    this

technically you can also purge the effect, but its going to be hard with single purges like the warden netch because your going to be combating the 4 other negative effects from ele sus

the cp passive or maras has a long cooldown though, while the vateshran staff proc is only 10 sec cooldown, so the only one that could purge it would be templar, but thats still going to eat resources if you do that every 10 seconds when they reapply ele sus on proc cooldown

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

You can run Wyrd's Tree for a selfish proc cleanse that cleanses everything. 15 second cooldown.

Healers can also start running Stendarr's Embrace to cleanse all negative effects when they heal. 30 second cooldown.

Mara's was mentioned and can combo well with these sets, but you'll hit like a wet noodle.

Curse Eater only clears 3 effects per heal, but restores magicka.

There need to be more cleanse sets/abilities in the game.

Supplement those sets with Efficient Purge, CP Purge, Templar Purge

Granted, none of these is a great solution, but it's what we have.

It's interesting to see that when Mara's was on a 15 sec cooldown, no one complained much about procs. But that set was a terrible idea as it was. Classes were designed around checks and balances. Templars were the one class that could purge up to 5 effects, although costly. Later, Wardens got a free purge, although single effect. Necros got a purge added to their abilities. NBs could cloak dots. Some classes suffered more from dots, but had other strengths. Mara's became a carry set, and not necessarily for the heal, but for the 15 sec purge.

I like seeing dots becoming more powerful. Perhaps the ticks and frequency of Master's dual wield and Vate ice staff could be toned down a bit. But not everyone deserves a class purge.

try adding a HOT skill to your burst heal, if u dont already have one, and when they hit you focus them aggressively with all youve got.

either that or add a speed skill and use distance.

i feel your pain. it’s stupidly ubiquitous in bgs.

Best way to counter it is to log out of the game…or dont PvP or only no proc Cyrodiil.

Honestly though: outrange it if you are ranged, break line of sight with walls or trees if melee. And if its about honorable 1v1s, just eat the damage and get some good healing on your side while pressuring the other guy to lighthen the damage income.

Zos really need to do something about it, even going as far as not allowing arena weapons in pvp, the amount of free damage people have now is ridiculous, pvp has got to the point where there is too many procs and gankers it's hard to get a proper fight going without having like 10 of these masters duel wield/vateshran staff builds or people hiding in a zerg to gank.

I mean, okay. Templar, Necro and Warden have a class purge. Templar has a giant aoe purge on synergy (good luck noticing it in a zerg), Warden is one effect and Necro's get Hexproof that is selfish and only counters 4 effects, which is useless in the face of a group running Ele Sus (let's face it, almost everyone does now, which is the point of this post).

A Master Resto staff that cleanses, say Grand Healing or Steadfast Ward if you wanna give a shield on top of the cleanse, that matches the 10 second cooldown would be a fantastic counter for this set.

Even if you don't wanna add a new weapon to the game, we can fix what is there. Look at the Vateshran healing staff. It's useless. A tether that restores resources but doesn't heal at all. Force Overflow could easily match the damage of Wrath of Elements and act as a hard counter for healers, but it doesn't, instead it turns healers into a glorified battery as long as they stay close to you. Sure, I can then slap on Moawita to turn my Heavy Attack channel into a heal, but that's single target and doesn't solve the cleanse problem.

Ele Sus and Wrath of Elements is broken, straight up. You can slap that on any class and it's gonna be a problem without causing them to worry about survivability.

So, yeah, we need more cleanses in the game, cause the 7 or so that exist aren't cutting it. Healing shouldn't be an uphill battle in PVP, and it has been for a long time.

    Thanks for all the replies.
Running away is not much of an option, I play stamdk since I started playing this game and it is more like a turtle compared to other classes especially hybrid sorcs which I despise fighting against. When it is on 1v1 it is easy to tank the damage, even if it's with the usual way of fire+masters dw+maarselok monster. However it is really annoying when I am fighting again someone and this annoying guy comes up, uses rending and suddenly I have 19384913 dots ticking on me.

I'll see if I can try some purge sets on dk, even though I doubt it will work since that means losing a lot of offensive play. Let's see.

This is probably the only way. You can't outdistance these builds unless they're not trying very hard because they know running away is the best counter.

If you're a nb cloaking it shuts off the tether but not the status effects
