Why is Automatic Quest Tracking and Quest Tracking attached and need both active?

I want Automatic Quest Tracking but I don't want Quest Tracking text in the top right. I want it to auto-focus my new quests as I get them but I like having as clean of a UI as possible. (see example)

Any chance the devs would consider separating these two as options so that you can still automatically have quests track on the compass (turn white/focused and visible from far away) while not having to turn the quest tracker text on in the top right of the screen?

I'd also love for main quests on say the compass and above NPC heads to be coloured as well, since that would make compass navigation a lot easier on my eyes (seeing as how all quest markers have the same white look).

I know we have UI addons, but I've found a few that straight up clash with each other, but all do different areas of the UI and cannot play nice with one another.

They don’t. You can activate quest tracking in order to activate Automatic Quest Tracking, then inactivate Quest Tracking. It will then keep your most recently picked up quest as the active one, but without displaying any quest details on screen.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it deals with quests.

    Thank you for your understanding

i dunno, this doesn't function for me, it automatically toggles back off and doesn't update when a new quest is received so i have to manually open journal and toggle the specific quest or go through them with T until i hit the new one...

yeah this seemed weird to me too

i use an addon for quest tracking, but the base game setting for automatic focus of the newly obtained quest is tied to having the base game quest tracker active

would really like those options to be separated

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Yes, that approach works for me on all characters, because I also wanted auto tracking on but display of quests on the UI off.
