I haven’t tested it myself but I believe a clarification was in the patch notes that you do not get bonuses from sets that rely on ulting if you wear cryptcanon.

Anyone happen to have a link to the patch notes so I know exactly what it negates? Or is it ALL ult based sets?

if you were running in a trial group, cryptcannon wouldnt really do much honestly

as it divides your ult across the other group members that would be 500/11 per person, or about 45 ult per person (if cast at max ult)

pillagers cast at 400 ult would actually return around 100 ult to each group member, so for a trial setting this is arguably better

if you were in a small group though cryptcannon could be really good

in a 4 person group, 500/3 is about 166 ult per person, which would more or less allow the other group members to double cast ults

it would be even stronger if you were in a small scale cyro group (2-3 players), that would either be able to give the other player 500 ult, or 2 other players 250 ult if you used at 500 ult (i think there have been some people doing this kind of thing with a dk and pocket healers to cast corrosive and then immediately cast dragon leap while still buffed by corrosive)

i think the same rule could apply though, small scale group = cryptcannon, large scale/ball group = pillagers

if your running in a small group, you could do something like arkassis + cryptcannon if you wanted to be an ult battery for your group (since those would stack)

Is there another support in your group who can wear cryptcanons? I wonder if the ult from cryptcanons would hit you and let you gain ult for pillagers and then the ult from pillagers hit them and give them more ult for cryptcanons... I haven't tested that.

that would work, but pillagers has a 45 sec cooldown, so you cant gain ult too fast you will be waiting on the cooldown
