Would people be interested in less Armor and more Clothing for Outfit Styles?

Less metal plates. Less tassets. Less front and back flaps. More cloth outfits, with belts, pouches, short sleeve and sleeveless shirts, tunics, ponchos, and dresses. Things that say, "I'm going to the crafting hall, not Veteran Sunspire."

I don’t use clothing but I’d be happy to see more clothes. The poor category is basically just Prophet stuff.

Yes, I'd love to have styles for the npc clothing you can pick up.

Heck, even a system where you had 'town clothes' would be fun, and an adventuring outfit/armour etc as seperate. I did that when I was running around Morrowind. And I guess technically I could do it with outfits, or a costume.

I think there's been a bit of a trend for newer styles to be more clothing-like versus the metal plating etc, but some of it still has some weird panels etc (looking at you Saarthal Scholar robes)

Fewer; of all of those things (especially tassets and flaps).

    And yes.
As part of that, I wish they would have given us a "Traveler's" style, like they did for Prisoner's.

Absolutely. An option to hide hip flaps would be nice as well. That alone would turn a lot of Light styles into something more casual-looking.

Yes. I still don't get why they haven't made the town clothing items that you can steal (such as Aproned Shirt or Loose Fit Trousers) available to unlock and use in the outfit station. All the pieces already exists in the game, can be equipped by any character and can be dyed. Would give more simple options to players and shouldn't be that hard to add compared to a completely new armor set.

Variety is always good for creating unique outfits. I would also like to see more gear with details on them like pouches, tomes, bottles of some kind. We're adventurers and I like looking like that is the case, not like some metal statue.

That's what I use costumes for. I use my actual armour and outfits for when I want it to look like armour (whether that's plate, leather, chain, or mages robes) and swap to costumes for times and places when armour would be out of place. Since I want different things for different situations (formal, informal, rugged & practical, traditional for their race etc.) it would take a lot of outfit slots to use those as an alternative, and IMO they're over-priced so I wouldn't use them.

I wouldn't mind having the option (especially the existing stealable clothing items) but I think mostly I'd stick with my current system.

Sure but anything they come up with would likely end up in the crown store as more costumes.

Yes, I’d like more stuff like this. Especially for the hands so I don’t have to use the prisoner’s chains all the time just for a bare hands with bracelets or no gloves.

Clothing styles would he nice. Armour styles can be annoying with to much needless clutter added to them. The opportunity to hid ugly, ill fitting and over size belt buckles would also be nice. The Orc style doesn't hide all of them by a long way.

Yes I'd be all for it. But at the same time also give us more outfit slots!! I'm already at max capacity and keep on having to delete beautiful outfits I regularly use just to try out a new one :(

'Less' was used correctly in the thread title.
Not in the body of the post, which referred to plates, tassets, and flaps; all countable nouns, to use your parlance.

This is a major issue of mine. If you are wearing armour, then your armour should show. You should not be allowed to be wearing armour and have a bikini displaying.

I have no issue with clothing styles, but if you are wearing clothing, then you should not be getting armour bonuses.

Pointing at the bikini armor we got 2 years ago in Blackwood’s season. You can wear heavy armor and use prophet style or light armor motifs already, adding clothing wouldn’t be adding an issue. If this is for PvP then I’ve heard people use costumes to hide their armor anyways?

Then I guess you want to add armor weight to costumes and restrict how we can use them based on which armor weight we have the most of. How do we do if you have say, 1 light, 3 medium, 3 heavy, can you wear both heavy and medium costumes or none? This is something we should settle since your whole argument is redundant otherwise. We can just ignore the whole argument by putting on the Nordic Bather's Towel on a heavily armored character if we don't.

Yeah, it makes no sense that they wouldn't just give this to us, it can't take much work to add.

Except that the entire costume system, that ZOS makes money off of... already defeats that.

Good heavens, no! My equipped items look hideous and I quite like the outfits I created to hide those abominations from my pure, innocent eyes.

In any case, I like wearing armor and whenever I want to switch to something more, say, casual, I just swap to a costume. Since motifs are, as a rule of thumb, meant for battle gear, it makes sense that most of them contain armor. On the other hand, outfit style pages could fulfill people's clothing needs.

That means remove the entire outfit system which tons of players have paid real life money for. It would also make almost all armor styles redundant since only a few sets are used in end game PvE and PvP. I'm sure that would be popular with players and ZOS would love to lose a solid revenue stream.
