is filleting fish broken ?

filleted 3 stacks of fish yesterday and got zero perfect roe --- and i am noticing in traders that the price of roe is now between 30k-80k. this is xbox na.

have talked to a few other people with the same problem

which method of filleting are you doing, the bulk at the crafting station or the manual? (im assuming bulk since your on console)

ive fillet a couple hundred fish since necrom release and gotten a couple roe, but im not sure if there is an issue with the display of the rewarded mats when using the bulk fillet from the crafting station

I haven't had any problems using bulk filleting (on ps5) I've had a fair few perfect roe from the fish I was getting for necrom angler

No. The drop rate for Perfect Roe has always been absurdly low. Nirncrux has a better drop rate. That's what happens when there is only one way to get a material and it is a gold quality rarity.

I got 19 roes since Necrom and I filet 923 fish

Actually, the drop rate for perfect roe is about 1:100 fish, for fortified nirncrux is about 1:100 nodes, and for potent nirncrux is about 1:400 nodes.

I've been harvesting in Craglorn for the last 8 months or so (which makes my statistical sample size quite large), and saving all nirncrux I get: during that time, I got 59 fortified and 37 potent, a ratio of about 8/5, which doesn't match those ratios you just quoted.

i dont mass fillet --- i also dont mass refine --- my logic being that if you have say a 20% chance of pulling a gold refinement material --- if you mass refine you only get that 20% chance once, whereas if you do it individually or in lots of like 5 or 10 you get that 20% chance every time.

but i have noticed since this past event i havent gotten any perfect roe --- then again it might just be my rng evidently. just thought it conveniently coincided with the price of them going up drastically in traders.

thats not at all how it works, if you mass refine, or mass fillet, it rolls each chance individually, it just does it all at once automatically so you dont have to sit there clicking one at a time

The drop rate for roe is definitely nowhere near 1:100 for me. It’s much closer to 1:200. As for the drop chance, I’m curious why it would be set at twice that of other gold mats.

Do you know of a data source for roe (and nirn)? We have tmbrinks’ data for the other gold mats, but I don’t think he keeps track of these.

We’ve added the capability to fillet multiple fish simultaneously. This feature can be accessed by visiting any Provisioning station.
There is a new tab at all Provisioning stations dedicated to filleting fish.
You can fillet multiple stacks of fish simultaneously.
Filleting fish one at a time from your inventory remains unchanged.
We’ve added a new tutorial and help texts for filleting fish.

i know people have said it isnt bugged .

1600 fish i filleted yesterday --- i got 4 perfect roe.

i understand rng but i used to get 3 or 4 per stack until the last event.

and again it would explain why the price of perfect roe has doubled
