What’s the current situation regarding crowns

Obviously we cannot gift crates but what about other srore items? Can we do crowns for gold?because the customer service representative to another clue what I was talking about. Can we still do the same system that they said that it was fine or is it against that Tos now completely

    You still can gift crown store items (except crates of course) directly to other players. I gifted my girlfriend the khajiiti merchant last week without problems or delay.
    So, as gifting is possible, I think you may trade crowns for gold safely.

    Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

    This, the problem with trading gold for crown items is the risk of getting scammed.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    For other items you just use the gift option in the Crown Store itself. The gifting from store is only disabled for crates. You can just gift other items the usual way, without customer service.

    Yes I mean crowns for gold like they did with crates, obviously only with friends if they want it and want to pay the gold you know

    Right but it’s doable? If I wanted to buy some I could from a mate of mine without backlash? This is what I’m trying to find out. If it’s completely all against the ToS or just the crates for gold

    Good luck getting an answer anymore. I have been pounding that drum in the Crown Crates thread ever since the conflicting info from CS reps came out and neither Kevin nor Gina have waded in to provided any clarification despite multiple threads on the subject and multiple tags.

    All evidence I've seen says that trading crowns for gold directly with another player is still allowed, you just can't use ZOS' "temporary crate gifting" program to do it. The confusion seems to stem from messages from customer service to those trying to use the temporary crate gifting system to trade crates for gold, which ZOS has specifically said the program is not intended for and is a violation of their TOS, and ZOS not weighing in when players try to get clarification.
