Yes. I had a redguard stam warden that looked very much like a young OJ simpson, and I used him as my NPC Killer at the caravan in Reaper's March. At the time, I didn't really play much PVP, and I had such a huge bounty, I didn't think I could use him for anything else. But I could totally have just converted him to a full-time PVP player and made good use of him throughout the years had I not deleted him.
After a while they're just a blip in history. Getting 1 to 50 doesn't take long casually, its the 6 months of mount training that is the only issue.
I don't push to 50 on alts. I play them as they ask me to do so, and I play things that make sense for each girl rather than slavishly following a "questing pattern" on anyone. Mount training happens every day on babies; but questing, antiquities etc happens as I feel like taking a girl out to have fun. I don't actually have any issue with 6 months of mount training; my own horse took a LOT longer than that to be useful.... like 4 years....
My wife mentions, from time to time, how she regrets deleting two VR 12 characters, back when there was no CP and VR 12 was max level. Her reasoning at the time was she wanted to try out different classes, races, and build choices, and there were no character slot expansions in the cash shop yet. I don't think I ever deleted any characters that were over level 40, but if I had, it would have been around that time period as well. But I personally don't have any regrets. My wife does.
I have one very long time character in my roster I think about deleting from time to time since I don't think I'll ever play them. But I'm holding out hope for class change coupons someday.
Nope. Never. It's more the opposite. I created 4 chars in total, but use one only. The other slowly disappear under a mountain of dust. I'm not sure why I don't delete them. Probably a "you-never-know" case.
I'm out of my mind, feel free to leave a message... PC/NA
I have the opposite problem. I have a bunch of characters I wish I hadn't created because they are useless now after AwA's. They're only useful now during the anniversary events when they can be used to do batches of crafting writs.
Not particularly. I never enjoy having multiple characters.
Currently sitting on 2, and not planning on making a 3rd despite not having really tried the Arcanist. Just did the lvl 10 thing for the free store bundle.
Will most likely give a fair shot to the class next time there is a double exp event though.

20 character slots isn't enough, so it saw me deleting the first character i ever made back in like beta time. I don't really regret it though, it isn't like Guild Wars 2 where your character anniversaries are celebrated or anything.
Never deleted a character and unlikely to ever do so. Have race changed a couple but if there's something that needs doing, I'm sure one of my 18 characters can manage it.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion.
I was going to answer in the negative, since while I have deleted several characters over the years, none of them have been max-level, nor had a great deal of completed skill progression.
But then I remembered that one of them (I think she was level 20 when I deleted her) had completed the Psijic skill-line, and I had deleted her like, mere days before they revealed that they were adding the ability to unlock certain skill-lines with Crowns, Psijic being one of them.
ive got plans to delete my dps templar just bc im not really having fun with the class in a dps role, i wanna delete and remake them in a different class since theres no class change tokens. ive already got another templar whos a healer so i *can* have fun with the class in general but i dont wanna copy that build and have 2 clones. i havent deleted my dps templar yet bc they have a fully maxed out mount and i really absolutely do not wanna grind out yet another 180 days of mount upgrades all over again when i remake then. theyre just sitting in my roster at level 26 and i only play them once a week for low level crafting writs bc i cant even bring myself to play on them long enough to get skyshards for the skill points to upgrade their crafting skills.
Yes, all of them, so I could remake them to have achievements go to the right character after AwA. I still hate that update as they should have waited until other optimizations before deleting all character achievements except the first to get it. Then they could have added an AwA tab so that both people who love AwA and those who wanted to keep individual character achievements could have both been happy.
I just wanna say thanks for this thread. Deleted my nightblade a few weeks ago, and ya'll made me realize how much I regretted it. Today ZOS got her back for me. I am very lucky
I have in the past, especially when I hadn’t fully explored the class. I also created a slew of toons to try various builds, but now with the armory system, I found I didn’t need them. If anything, it started stressing me out to have like 12 or 13 toons. Now I am down to 5 toons I play; time will tell if I will regret my pruning spree.
I am pretty sure a character I deleted had the original "Pay to Lose" Broom from way back. I do not remember which character it was since I deleted and remade many characters over the years. Losing that broom was my biggest regret of deleted characters.
As an altoholic I've deleted more than my share of char's since launch. But as I've *ahem* (clears his throat) "matured" I've been more likely to just keep them in a state of semi-retirement...just in case.
