Pet fights

Hey all,

what about introducing pet fights?

It would basically be a mini-game where you let your pet duell the pet of someone else.

One could collect various ingredients around the world to power-up one's own pet to make special moves etc.

What do you think? Could be funny IMO

sounds like a lot of dev time to make something that probably wont be used much if theres no reward from doing so

not to mention the 100s of different pets we have in the game ranging from literally a pet rock to pixies to a single butterfly/moth/torchbug and everything in between which means attack and reaction animations for every single different model pet

i would rather them invest more time into making companions/making companions more useful

if this is the kind of feature that gives my pets nametags with their nicknames then i am all for it.

but i don't think i would use this pet fight feature

I strongly wish we get a monster capturing/training/fighting mechanic one day! But not pet-related. Leave the thousands of cosmetic pets to the side.

Hear me out: on a random year, no one is expecting anything, monster taming! Hircine is the big agent this time but there's no end of the world. His collections of bizarre, ultra rare, mystical creatures have fled his realm. You are charged of capturing them and testing their strength in this new player-versus-player minigame.

Same thing as ToT but with a different theme. No specific gear, no specific trait for your character, everything tied to the minigame itself.

You roam the whole of Tamriel (and beyond) looking for specific monsters at specific times at specific biomes and capture them. You can level them up and feed them and use them to battle other people's monsters (or other npc monsters).

There could be daily quests that reward you with sort-of master writs but for monster hunting. Today you got a writ to hunt a centaur. The next week you get a writ to hunt a rare wolf...

And don't think this as Pokémon. Think this a Monster Hunter World. Or maybe World of Warcraft's monster taming and battling mechanic. Or maybe Maple Story's monster card collection.

Again, no thank you. If I wanted to tame pets I'd go back to WoW. As it happens, I really dislike "minigames"....

I did the battle pet battles in wow and that's how I got like 1000 of them in my collection. That event is optional and not required to play. It's a fun mini game to do while waiting in queue for dungeon, battlegrounds, arenas, raids, etc.

In eso that would be interesting but they need to get a lot more types of critters that can be tamed out in the wild.
