Request: fences

I keep coming across the same problem with housing that there is a distinct lack of fences to fence off outdoor areas. As things stand you're restricted to the redguard railing (which I think is crown store only), or the high isle railing. Otherwise you have to build a low wall or use blocks, which almost always looks like overkill for what you're trying to do and often doesn't work.

Please could we have some more fences? Of varying lengths, too, and neither crown store only nor luxury furnisher only because when you're using fences you tend to need A LOT to fence off whatever area is relevant.

One notable example that is in the game but missing from furnishing is the rope fence you see in various locations. That is, a length of rope run along a number of fence posts. This would serve very well for fencing off many outdoor areas. In game, they're often used as the railings for high level platforms (indeed, it would be nice to have them available for that purpose in housing, too), eg High Isle.

Forgotten Wastes also has a sort of rudimentary rough wooden railing that would be useful when you don't want your fences to look like pieces of high art. Your vegetable patch does not need a carefully sculpted High Isle railing, for example.

And there are many other examples in game of different fences.

Thank you!

They've been adding fences. I definitely agree they should keep adding more. But, in the meantime, there's more than just those 2.

There's the solitude fence for a rustic wooden fence. That's at the home goods vendor.

There's also the Daedric fence, alinor fence, and druid fence. There's also some items that aren't technically fences but do well in a cobble like the argonian lattice, solitude low wall, or the scavenged grate. They just added one with Galen. I'd bet they'd one with Necrom as well.

Thank you as always! Trouble with all three of the daedric, alinor and the druid is that they're not actually fences per se. They come with walls (there's a similar super bling redguard or Hew's bane gilded metal fence with wall). I find it a really weird omission.

There's almost nothing available that's appropriate for, say, fencing off a raised platform run or a cliff edge. It's all either too formal or too trashy.

Definitely agree there! We need some plain fencing of varying lengths. And also some more curved fencing of all types. Some things can be sunk into the ground in some places to work, but they aren't the same thing as having a fence that is actually suited to this purpose and wouldn't work in places where sinking it into the ground is unavailable as an option.

Here's some more cobble ideas in the meantime

There's some metal grating in Clockwork that can be sunk into the ground and makes a feasible chainlink fence as well.
