Zeal of Zenithar Event - Honest Toil Quest Bug

I noticed a bug regarding the ZoZ event quest - Honest Toil.
When you scryed a lead but have not excavated it yet and you find a chest/thieves trove in that between time and open it -the quest will move forward and ask you to talk to Fasaria to get your reward.
It does not happen all the time, only noticed it on my newer characters but seems like a bug.

I dont think its a bug. Opening a chest completes that quest (not just digging one up)

That's correct-- looting any type of chest seems to count for that quest, even though the wording ("unearth") does make it sound like you need to actually dig up a buried treasure chest. I've completed the "Honest Toil" quest by looting Tel Var chests in Imperial City, looting treasure chests, and looting thieves troves. I assume looting strongboxes will also count, but I haven't tried that yet.

Nice to know, if I run out of treasure maps now I don’t have to buy one.

may be another bug of Honest Toil - Trade with Guild Traders.

I bought an item from random Guild Trader in Davon's Watch but nothing happened.
So I went to bank and bought and also listed random items in one of my trading guild - still nothing.

Quest still says - Trade with Guild Traders.

    How much did you spend?

The in-game hint asks you to spend 10,000 gold at guild traders. Most people who buy at a guild trader haven't met the amount yet.

Make sure the quest is active and then check the hint in the tooltip to see how much more you need to spend.

I looted a Dolmen chest and it counted for me.

I can confirm that looting Thieves trove chest DOES count toward completing the quest. I have also come across the 'problem' the OP mentioned. Since I have 7 characters, if I do find a chest whilst going to the Scry area I will open the chest (to complete the quest) then go and claim the reward. Then - using another character, I will go to the Scry area (from the previous character) and then scry the item.

It is also worth noting that you can complete the quest by getting a Champion Point so keep an eye on that XP bar when you finish your daily writs. It can take a bit of juiggling otherwise - if you successfully scry (so have completed the quest) and then the XP you get gives you a CP point then in a way, that is wasted (since it doesn't 'carry over' to another Character - If that makes any sense lol).
