No, you don't. I have logged on each day with my main crafter and done a Master writ from each discipline. That's 7 boxes right there, all from one toon, in about 10 minutes. (The real restriction here is having enough Master writs, materials, and crafting expertise / motif knowledge to complete the Master writs.) As a bonus, you get writ vouchers, too.
That same toon, or another, can then do any Daily crafting writ for an 8th box. And then there is the Daily event quest (gain cp, trade with guild traders, dig up treasure/antiquity) for the "special" box.
I think that's the 9 boxes that @freespirit indicated above.
I've also gotten several from pickpocketing and looting strongboxes. I haven't done any "group with guild" activities yet, but have gotten lots of boxes each day.

I understand that they wanted to somehow limit the box spam but here they are too excluding. Far too excluding.
On day three I have not had a style sheet drop and that is a pretty bad result.
Is this the event to turn players away from events?

If you’re a hardcore completionist who absolutely needs every skin in the game, then just bite the bullet and join a guild. Every guild I’ve seen has been running events where they group up and do stuff. You can even leave when the event is done.
If the idea of being in a guild is abhorrent to you, even if it’s just to do quests and not talk to or interact with anyone outside of that, then maybe you should just accept that you’re going to miss some stuff?
As people have stated multiple times during Whitestrake’s Mayhem, every event is not tailored to every player. If this one isn’t specific to your play style, wait for one that is. It seems selfish to complain or tell ZoS to change the fundamental nature of an event because it doesn’t appeal to you and a handful of players.

Also, there should definitely be something event appropriate that you can do solo and reasonably farm in the same way as the guild activities. Something like harvesting mats or killing public dungeon and delve bosses.

Exactly this.
Me and my guildmates definitely aren't short on event boxes and it's a reason to visit some worldbosses we didn't kill in a long time.spartaxoxo wrote: »I don't understand why treasure chests are excluded from the legerdemain activities that reward parcels. Are they excluded? Don't know for sure, because I don't farm them, but for the daily it's definitely possible to simply open any thieves trove or locked chest (the standard ones) to complete the quest, despite the questlog is asking specifically for treasure chests. Besides that I agree, that at least public dungeon bosses should be part of the event for more solo-oriented players.
Alternatively, if you prefer to earn your rewards through less-than-honest means, you may discover parcels scattered across Tamriel by pickpocketing citizens and looting strongboxes or thieves troves. Why not let others do all the hard work for you?

Group drops took a nerf as well. The world event cool down is quite noticeable and it feels like less guild members are into it this year as a result. People like the world events because they are more active and there's less worries some people won't get drops.
