Some arcanist skills seems to be too op or even broken

I dont know how to feel about it, but it seems like arcanist is too op right now. I am especially talking about that Pragmatic Fatecarver skill. In every BG right now there is at least couple of arcanists insta spamming this skill. It deals insane amount of damage, and it kinda locks you on while the other player is chanelling it, even if you can get behind his back, it has still locked you on.

I dont know how do you feel about this, am I doing something wrong? Any advice how to counter this? seriously my every other death recap right now always has this skill in it lol, dealing 6-7x more damage then everything else.

    Fayecarver definitely doesn't lock, I use this skill amd play against it, it's very easily avoided if your not immobilised or stunned

    More out of control is the spamable OP shield of Arcanists.
    But it is also no mystery that new implemented classes are released overpowered in the beginning. I expect a hard nerf to the end of the year.

    You can see their crux build up, you can pressure them to spend them on something else or when they reach 3 you know the beam is coming next. They constantly need to ramp up before each use or it does crap damage at base.

    Nooooooo please don't start nerfing arcanist it's nicely balanced for us PvE'ers. If it's a problem in PvP ZOS should add tooltips similar to other skills (i.e. tentacles only stun mobs, not players etc.).

    Side note: please fix the gate skill. It looked so good in the adverts but doesn't remotely work in-game. Maybe restrict usage to PvP zones to 5 metres up if the problem is people being able to zip over keeps.

    My fellow PvP players just need to learn how to play against the Arcanist which is so so in PvP anyway.
    That beam is super easy to avoid if you are awake.

    I hate to take away any fun from my fellow PvPers but yeah. Its stronk. Although I think the Arcanist is in some ways, more balanced than the Warden was when it first came out. 4 man Warden just dominated for a long long time and the Warden's themselves were just so hard to deal with.

    Just run. Server lag makes this skill unusable against moving targets. It won't even scratch you. I've been playing BGs quite a lot during last PvP event and i was killed by death beam may be 2-3 times tops. As for myself, i don't even use FC on my arcanist in PvP because of how bad it is at hitting players.

    Skill issue. :)

    Arcanist is easy to avoid/defeat in PvP. The skill takes time to load and channel. If they cannot build up Crux, it is useless. Keep moving, burst attack. It's not tremendously difficult.
    Content Pass is not the answer. It is a question, the answer is No.

    Like I said it is not the beam. It is the defense and this overpowered shield

    The Arcanist is not overpowered. Don't be swayed by the ever whining PvPers that have yet to adjust. I don't recall who but someone did the numbers and the Arcanist is far more in line with the other classes in terms of balance than Necro and Warden were when they were released. This is a rare balance win on Zos' part and they should be lauded for it.

    You are just bad. Crux needs to be spent on their offense OR defense. SO if you pressure an arcanist they can never dmg you and you can easily out run and interrupt their beam wasting all their offensive crux. Arcanist is actually horrible in pvp. Its like bottom tier....

    This. Arcanist is very easily killed in PVP if you know what you're doing, and very easily avoided. Those beams need to be manually aimed, and although they do a lot of damage, if you're quick on your feet you don't get hit.

    Additionally, having enough defense and shielding yourself really helps against them. Put pressure on them to defend themselves and they wont have the crux to do a large amount of damage to you.

    If you read up on your class and refine your play style, you will find that nearly all of the classes are equipped to deal with an arcanist.

    They are only OP if you don't know what you are doing against them. It helps to play the class yourself and learn where their weaknesses lie. I found the Arcanist's main weakness lies in its need to constantly regenerate crux to do the best damage, thus I pressure them to defend/heal/shield themselves to exhaust their crux.

    Yes, their shield spammables are annoying, but they go squish easily when you catch them out. Making certain you are quick/know what you are doing with your own defense allows you to mess with them.

    Roll dodge. If you stay close to them you can just easily kite the beam and unless they're high skill level they're exposed every time they use it. Unless you're getting pinned down by other players while someone uses it on you Fatecarver is one of the least OP things in PvP right now.

    Fatecarver is a trash skill for PvP for anyone that knows how to a) interrupt, b) evade or c) counter it. It‘s only good when used with 3 Crux on targets very far away (even then melees either have a gap closer or ranges a stun / interrupt) or in a group setting where enemies are not targeting the Arcanist. Besides those situations the beam can easily be interrupted or avoided overall.
