Capture the Relic and Bashing

Should there be a bashing immunity in capture the Relic? Having a group of three people spam bashing while turtling up on relic just seems like cheese. I have won 5 games in a row with this method and even with 6 players on me I could go all day with my pocket healer healing me.

It just seems like a cheese method to win and makes the whole game boring. What do you think?

    I'll probably cast a vote later but I want to see what other people have to say first.

    My hesitation is based on a couple of things:
    1) I hear a lot of people complain about the exact opposite thing-- people picking up the relic even though they are being bashed.
    2) I'm glad that your build is so good at defending relics but the fact that you won 5 in a row this way is luck. Luck aided by your actions of course, but defending well isn't enough to win. Someone else on your team must score a point. And the other teams must also, for some reason, be unable to take eachothers.

    Most people don't seem to know you can bash people off the relic. I don't see the problem though, just kill the people bashing or get someone to distract them.

    Yes cause that works great with half the people in Objective game modes being tanks that don't care about actual pvp and just want to win no matter how obnoxious they do it.

    This game mode is absolutely terrible design. It should be 1 relic in the middle that all 3 teams have to fight for.

    The modes should just have 2 teams to begin with. Team vs team capture the relic could actually be interesting, cause people would need to fight eachother instead of avoiding fighting to sneak relics from 2 teams that are doing actual pvp.

    If anything, bashing someone on a relic should make it so that they cannot try to pick it up for a short period of time.

    The most asinine thing I've ever seen in any PvP gamemode, without hyperbole, is the type of gameplay and builds Capture the Relic breeds.

    It is not fun, skillful, interesting, nor engaging to baby sit the relic while bashing a single omega-tank endlessly because they're just sitting there spamming the collect button. Your options are:

    1) Sit there and continue to bash them until the game bugs out and gives them the relic anyways

    2) Ignore them and let them take the relic

    3) Hope that you have enough damage to kill them. If they know what they're doing, you won't. It isn't hard to make a functuonally immortal build when you don't need to do any damage or healing, just survive.

    Fix this gamemode.

    Well, no. Chaosball you just have to survive. A 1 relic version of CTR would still necessitate getting the relic back to your base. They could also add in some score metric where you accumulate points while holding the relic and need to "bank" them at your base to actually score.

    "Just kill the person capping it" doesn't work when you go up against someone with a full tank build. You can very easily make an immortal build in this game if you never have to deal damage or heal - since CTR requires neither, and since there simply isn't a ton of damage in BGs versus other environments, omega-tanks ruin this gamemode.
