Templar - what to do with it

Haven’t really changed my stamplar in years, just added stuff to it. Always ran night mother gaze with a good recovery set and all swift. Switch between shadow and thief Mundas. Then added balrogh and wild hunt and switched to all infused. Switched out jabs for d swing now. For a class that can easily get 7k + spell/weapon damage now, their class damage abilities scaling is trash.

Put your Templar on the retirement bench and play a different class. I refuse to touch it again until they revert Jabs/Sweeps back to 4 ticks. The class has nothing going for it; mediocre and unreliable burst, a lackluster spammable, poor sustain, and average healing/defensives that're outperformed by most other classes.

I try that every now and then. If I have patience with a class, I get better, but generally I'm just still better on my templar. Except DK. I don't think you can screw up with DK

I'm glad I found a warden build I like before they nerfed Jabs. I main that now, though I'm kinda leaning towards my arcanist now. I'd love to go back to the main I've had since 2015, but I just can't. Not with the new Jabs animation. I still play it, and I can still do ok damage with it, albeit with most of my damage coming from the execute phase, but the new jabs animation is so offensive to my eyes that I just can't play it for any extended period of time.

I tried to full cheese with Draugrkin + Dragon's Appetite, because that used to be quite fun in PvE with jabs.
But I still feel like I'm doing no damage, it's quite wild.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

Against anyone competent, especially people with high movespeed, landing jabs is really difficult. The fact that they hit like a noodle even with da + draugrkin is disappointing (I run this set up frequently with master dw bb)

Dot damage from the second branch is too weak. And I'm constantly missing one or two skill slots. I'm playing right now with direct heal and vigor. I don't have slots to put more.

I've run Draugrkin, NMG, Shattered Fate, Mechanical Acuity, etc. The damage is unbelievably poor. All can hope for in a 1vX situation is to wear down the opponent. But with sustain really easy to come by for everyone, It's hard to even hope to wear people down. I just quit the fight after a while.

I used to get upset on the forums (and got in trouble a few times), but the devs clearly don't care. I'm not going to waste my own emotional energy on it. I may take an extended break from the game. I don't have the time or inclination to being forced into another class because the devs have gutted my favorite class. I expect nerfs and meta changes, but this is going far beyond simple nerfs over so long of a period.

Well depending on if they make any more balance changes this PTS cycle; really the class is just flavor on why kind of defensives, utility, and healing you want. Rest of it is just vate ice staff, master dual wield, elemental susceptibility
