Question regarding build guides

I havent played in several years(Last played when Mag builds were all the rage) And now I see that DKs using hybrid builds rule the roost. Is there anywhere that I can look at Meta builds and classes compared? For Trials specifically. And are Mag/Stam builds far behind hybrid builds or not really? Im just trying to find a good source of info on these things so I can get back into the game.

I’m not sure if there’s one best place for all the meta builds. I can say though that we still use the terms mag and stam. MagDKs are the meta. That said, pure magicka or pure stamina builds don’t really exist anymore due to hybridization (stam skills can scale off spell damage and vice versa).

All of the usual build sites have what you are looking for. Like @Soarora said, it is rare to find a pure mag/stam build. Even within the meta of the Mag DK, there are variations. I would find a build whose base works for you then tweak it from there. For example, on my MagDK, I run daggers on the front for damage and stamina sustain, and a staff on the back for DOTs and mag sustain

Which usual build sites do you mean? Almost all the old ones I remember still divide builds by stam/mag, although Deltias does show it using daggers/inferno staff. Any youtubers/sites/streamers I could check that you would recommend?

Skinnycheeks, Deltia's, even Alcast has some.

Definitely do not use Alcast. Alcast’s builds are really… really bad. Just to be sure, I looked at his page for Arcanist and he lists several links as the “meta” while none of them are dw/inferno (the actual meta) and the build I clicked on used relequen (you can’t use relequen on an arcanist…). Just one example.
I think the other two are good though. I like Skinnycheeks’ layout, I used him and Nefas for my arcanist.

@Soarora totally agree. His builds are very cookie cutter. And yes, the Relequen meta had me scratching my head. But some people still swear by him.

I like Skinnycheeks' build, but I am currently using a modified Deltia's stamarc build. Really like the Deadly Strike/Coral Riptide combo, but prefer the VMA 2H to the VBRP daggers
