I love the lore and the beautiful detailed world with all it´s inhabitants, flora & fauna which make it so unique and alive- even without the highest quality settings.
I also love the freedom in choosing one´s playstyle in terms of classes, abilities and weapons.

The housing is amazing and the best I've seen in an MMO - not just in the options they provide to us and the constant stream of new stuff to put in the house, but how it's integrated into the game economy and fuels gameplay. It's actually involved with crafting and requires resources and crafting investment, instead of just 'kill boss, get fancy chair'.

This is a positive gratitude type of discussion about stuff we like about the game and/or the forums. 😀

    I'll start:
I like elderscrolls because they have very fun dungeons each one with their own uniqueness and mechanics that makes for a fun and exciting adventure.

What do you like about elderscrolls?

The community has always been near the top of my "good things" list in ESO since launch - especially the raiding community where knowledgeable people volunteer a lot of their time, effort, and knowledge to help other raiders become better and get their clears. The community is what keeps my playing even after I've exhausted the current content.

I have happy memories of my time with this game.
I also love housing and the lore. Questing, pvp'ing, soloing stuff I really shouldn't be soloing, me and my friend panicking our way through vet dlc dungeons on crazy 2-man crusades.
For all my complaints, I cannot deny I've had many, MANY hours of joy with this game and it shall be something I'll always remember.

Truly hoping there are more memories yet to be made.
Struggling to find a new class to call home. Please send help.

Spellcrafting in Oblivion was a blast and I really wish that ZOS would finally follow through with their Quakecon 2014 presentation and deliver it to ESO.

Although, if what I heard about Update 40 is true, building our characters is about to become a lot more interesting.

What is this interesting bit you speak of in U40? o.0

Can’t get too much into it due to our forum rules, just know that if my source is correct, sets are going to be a lot more creative than ever before.

should I wait until U40 before I create a new build for my character?

I love that it filled in the map with so many different environments (one of the things I most hated about Skyrim was how incredibly homogeneous and visually monotonous the landscapes were). From time to time I just potter around different zones at random as a sort of soothing virtual holiday.

The music. Many pieces have these short flourishes that make them nice for repeat listening, they don't wear out so fast.

The quests and the lore in general, as others have pointed out. Many characters returning for later missions.

That fact Vampires are a part of the lore and you can play as one, as also already pointed out, even though I've cured my main for the first time in 2 years to try some other builds and looks.

Since the overland enemies are easy, you are free to pick skills based on how fun they are to use and how they look, and change them if you get bored, without any penalty.

If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Hmm. I LOVE antiquities. I level them to 10 on all my characters. I don't know what that link is supposed to provide? I've already done antiquuities in all of W Skyrim....

I can't talk about only 1 thing I love about ESO. Sorry not sorry!

    - The character creator is simple yet fantastic. I love the ability to create toons of the same race and still have them look wildly different. And I like that I have the option to change the size of certain assets on my female toons.

    - The music! I absolutely love the music in this game. I'll go AFK while I'm questing or farming just to take in the sounds. I even listen to the soundtrack on Spotify while I'm off doing real life activities.

    - The lore and zones are ever expanding and there truly is so much to take in across Tamriel. I'm really amazed by what the ESO team has done. The environments across all the zones including NPC towns and homes to dungeons (Fang Lair is gorgeous) and trials (Sunspire!!) are top notch.

-- The combat! I love DPS'ing in this game.

    - And PVP! Yes it's been hard times in Cyrodiil as of late, but there has been no other PVP on consoles that is as equally satisfying and addictive than AvAvA. For me at least.

I guess the last thing I want to say is I miss the personality achievements from dungeons. I wish they'd make a comeback. Oh! And thank you for the hide shoulders! Please expand on that!
    PS5 NA
    ESO Plus: Yes
Current Activities: back after a 3-4 month break, I'm mainly ganking in GH or questing in Vvardenfell

There are a million things to do and places to go and I don't feel forced into any of it. I think ZOS nicely incorporates that aspect of ES games into ESO, even if it can't be to the same extent as a single player game.

    1. ESO doesn't use that horrendous EasyAntiCheat (should be called BanMeForNothing) riskware.
That makes all the flaws not significant.

Yeah, its a good thing! I run a lot with my SO, and (I know people will hate this)- in this way its pretty much become "Skyrim, with friends" lol. We're all anticipating TES6 but given Todd's philosophy its very unlikely to be coop- we'll be at a loss not being able to run together!

I've got the best of both worlds. There's not much content we can't beat duo, few resources we can't get through sharing, but I 100% still also can just run around by myself, and do my own thing. I've taken to zooming the camera in, right over the shoulder (like I did in the SPTs) and doing simple stuff, but in a way that I'm just totally absorbed in the beautiful world.

    1. The Elder Scrolls universe and lore. I enjoy learning about the lore, reading lorebooks, watching lore videos, and listening to lorecasts, so any game that adds to that lore on a regular basis makes me happy. The use of the unreliable narrator is genius and put to good effect.

    2. The fantasy setting and Tamriel itself. I'm a huge fantasy nerd, so I love a good fantasy RPG, and getting to explore all the different cultures and regions in Tamriel is awesome. I especially like that ESO let's us travel to places we've never been in other games in the series as well as see familiar locations at a different point in history.

    3. Khajiit. I can play the game as a talking cat. It never ceases to make me smile. I also love ESO specifically for introducing more Khajiiti lore and letting us interact with a multitude of furstocks.

    4. Stories and characters. I think the writing and voice acting in the game are great. I always listen to all the dialogue the first time through (and often again later). I love the humor that's often injected into them as well.

    5. The art. This game is beautiful! I can easily get sidetracked by a breathtaking vista or unusual atmosphere and have to stop just to appreciate the view. Every expansion just gets better and better art-wise, and the details in the environments really make them come alive.

    6. The music and the bards. I will let it keep playing on my computer after I log out sometimes just because I love the title song so much. I also look forward to hearing the new bard songs each time a zone is added. Some of them are really beautiful or catchy. I listen to them and sing them out of game too.

    7. Customization. I can spend hours just customizing my characters and arranging my homes. While not perfect, I think these systems are well done and allow for real creativity and diversity in the game. I like that there's enough leeway and variety for me to create characters I can roleplay as non-playable races. I also love seeing what the talented community creates in game. Some of their houses are really unbelievable!

    8. The open world design and play-as-you-like philosophy. I'm not a huge gamer outside this series, and I'm not into competitive gaming. I love that ZOS supports my style of gameplay as well as so many others. It's not an easy feat to pull off. I love just exploring, taking my time on quests, choosing skills to fit my characters' personalities and stories, and roaming the world solo. I don't feel pressured to min-max my characters or be a combat expert, and I'm very grateful for that. This is where I come when I need an escape.

Also, thanks to the OP for creating this thread! It's really nice to read all the positive comments.

This screenshot of the Gold Coast

    Taken from Malabal Tor.

Similar can be found in other zones, including Telvanni Peninsula.

Its probably such a little thing, but I absolutely LOVE the attention to detail and appreciate it so much.

They did such a good job of this in the new chapter as well; I love being able to see the coast of Vvardenfell and Baar Dau from the Telvanni Peninsula.

Even if it seems a little wonky xD

i start play eso from the very begin... sometimes was a pain... but what happend year after year...
it's a trip that constantly surprise me, foundation become solid and strong to keep up the player desire.
it's a hudge world, not only for the map. lot of thing is underground, you must be curious to bring at light most of them.
20 characters leveled up and still newbee: this is what i like of eso, it makes you feel a little one, because on the other side is never ending.
waiting forward 10 anniversary... see you somewere on tamriel
