This is a positive gratitude type of discussion about stuff we like about the game and/or the forums. 😀

I'll start:
I like elderscrolls because they have very fun dungeons each one with their own uniqueness and mechanics that makes for a fun and exciting adventure.

What do you like about elderscrolls?

Spellcrafting in Oblivion was a blast and I really wish that ZOS would finally follow through with their Quakecon 2014 presentation and deliver it to ESO.

Although, if what I heard about Update 40 is true, building our characters is about to become a lot more interesting.

Picking just one thing is difficult, happily I have many things I love :)

Ok, I'll go with character creation.
IMO we have a nice amount of flexibility when creating our characters.
Not just in physical appearance, skills and playstyle. But also that we can craft pretty much any backstory, headcanon, whatever about our characters and it works with the main and side quests in the game.

The quests aren't written for say, "a knight" and the NPCs in the quest keep addressing you as a knight, etc.
Don't know if that's the best example of what I'm trying to explain.

I guess basically I like that I have the freedom to create and roleplay whatever kind of character I can think of and the quests and stories don't make you feel out of place or like they're written for someone else.

What is this interesting bit you speak of in U40? o.0

Can’t get too much into it due to our forum rules, just know that if my source is correct, sets are going to be a lot more creative than ever before.

I like that there are so many different things I can do each day: crafting dailies, Endeavors, daily quests in whatever the new zone currently is, Antiquities, PvP, housing, Tales of Tribute, Pledges. That is all I can think of right now but there is probably more. It’s hard for me to keep up.

Voice acting everywhere and lip-synch that appears to work (latter didn't used to, long ago). While these days I tend to skip through quest dialogue on re-runs, it's still an impressive and immersive feature, particularly if you can play first person like traditional elder scrolls games (although it's very limited and limiting in eso).

The Summerset Isle. It wasn't available to us for years, and when it finally opened it was amazing (still is). I absolutely love everything about it, from the more grounded-feeling high elven architecture (which I think takes a lot of inspiration from irl gothic architecture), to the clothes worn by high elves, to the fauna and flora.

I'm a huge Altmer fan (have been since I first started playing TES in Oblivion/Skyrim), and I'm thrilled that we finally have a "look" for what Altmer look like in their own homeland, and what that homeland actually looks like too. And even though the new lore they gave us for the high elves wasn't particularly deep, it was certainly wide in scope, introducing a host of new terms, customs, scholarly orders, locations, etc, which we can further use to understand Altmer across all TES games (helps with roleplaying too).

I love the Kahjiit and the lore around them. Love the idea that the two moons at their birth determine, what kind of Kahjiit they will be. And the clothes they wear, the furniture and the houses in Elsweyr, the way they speak *sigh* - all around them is so attractive! Also love their attitude, they always appear slightly anarchic and playful towards the other eso races. :)
This one has no regrets *Raz

The "play it the way you like" philosophy.
To me it's good that you can, for example, have a Magicka Sorcerer dual wielding daggers.

I was laughing so hard when I tried building a Monk/unarmed character and it worked surprisingly well to beat WBs down. This game gives fun possibilities that are outside of the box: nice!

I love the realistic looks of the game. The world looks amazing, there are plenty of places where I have to stop and enjoy the scenery. Also character customization / creation is spot on, not to mention outfits and whatnots. Beautiful game world!

I love trying out all races and classes, tinkering and improving them in order to take on the next challenge.

I love helping out other players and drop everything whenever I see anyone struggling with a stronger opponent.

But most of all I simply love exploring the open world of Tamriel ever since I started playing TES II: Daggerfall back in 1996.

    1. ESO keeps expanding the world and lore each year. One of my favorite things I tell people is, The sun isn't really a sun. It's just a hole left in the sky by a god who said "Screw it, I'm don't wanna make reality anymore", and left the plane.
    2. The dungeons are fun with unique gameplay mechanics that, despite being on an older game engine/physics, still produce very memorable and exciting gameplay.
    3. Housing is amazing and keeps expanding each year - with new unique furnishings and bigger ones to better utilize slots
    4. Voice-Acted NPCS
    5. Daedric Realms as zones that we can visit and experience - Got a long way to go, but I love that we have Coldharbour, Deadlands, and Apocrypha now. Looking forward to Moonshadow, Spiral Skein, Colored Rooms, Evergloam, and Quagmire as zones in the future.
    6. The dream of a fully realized continent of Tamriel to explore in all its full glory. (Or atleast 90% of it)

Plenty of Tamriel lore everywhere - cultures, architecture, music, environments, I think designers did an incredible job - obviously better in DLC though.

1/ The idea that there is something to do for everyone.

2/ The idea that everyone can play how they want.

3/ The concept used for 3 faction PvP.

4/ Empty housing lots for player creations.

5/ The art, even the generative portion.

P.s. Some of these are more successful than others depending on Zos choices and community voices.

It's hard to choose just 1 so I'll list a few.

    I like the outfit designer

I like being able to explore parts of Tamriel that have never appeared in any other TES game

I like how many things there are to do, it really feels like there's something for everyone

IMO voice acting gives the game life and makes the NPCs seem like real people. That's why it upsets me when I see dead NPCs everywhere after a murder spree.
