Can we get additional sources for the treasure map leads? (Psijic portals, regular chests, etc)

My name is Vinny and I am poor. Very poor. These maps are killing me. :expressionless:

But seriously. Is there any way we could expand the sources from which the Necrom antiquity furnishing leads can drop? Like maybe regular zone chests (just master and/or advance, to hold some of the exclusivity/rarity), or Psijic portals (this would also incentivize players to do the Summerset story, which is the best story)?

The ones designated "treasure map chest" in the "Location" column are the ones I'm talking about here: https://alcasthq.com/eso-full-antiquities-list-with-locations-of-leads/

On Xbox NA, the maps are holding steady at around 100k gold in traders. These leads aren't for mythic items. They're not even for motifs (which have universal value in that they can be sold). The leads in question are for insta-bound furnishings. It shouldn't be this expensive to get them. I've spent about 3M so far and I've found four leads. That might not sound like a lot for heavily invested ESO players, but the vast majority of players won't make that much in a year of playing. Why make something that's completely aesthetic unobtainable for most players?

I posted about this about a month ago and can assure you that nobody is happy about there being 9 leads sourced from zone specific treasure maps. Not counting the 3 CE Treasure Maps which came with the Collector's Edition Upgrade, I have found just 2 of the new maps thus far and that's with looting every single treasure chest I can find and having looted thousands of urns and the hundreds of looted folios. Simply put, treasure maps are a terrible choice for lead sourcing followed by a close second in the lead that drops from playing Tales of Tribute.

Damn. Probably not too much of a chance that they'll change anything then. Anyway, I hope your luck gets better.

I haven't even dug my maps up yet, because I'm not ready to be hurt just yet...

Treasure map chest leads should have a chance to drop from any chest in that zone. Maybe just a much higher lead drop chance through treasure maps for that same lead.

Treasure map leads should be limited to one or two per zone imo. The RNG involved in getting the correct map and then getting the lead is ridiculous. There are plenty of other sources for leads in zones so more than two leads from treasure maps is egregious.

I've tried to farm the "Apocryphal well" and wasted 5 millions for nothing. The leads droprate are inexistant.

Look at how much fun it was to get just ONE SINGLE LEAD from the Galen Treasure Maps. Now multiply that by nine... Maps are being listed north of 100K each on Xbox/NA and even then there's only a handful of maps for sale on guild traders. Given the scarcity of the maps and the corresponding cost, the vast majority of players will NEVER get those nine leads, much less the twenty-seven leads if they're wanting to complete the Codex. I really do wish that ZOS would read the feedback from the PTS and from all of these posts to see just how frustrating the lead sourcing is, especially when it comes to zone specific treasure maps.

Cost will drop in few months, it always does - look at Galen and High Isle.

I’ve heard that lead has to drop from a treasure chest in Apocrypha (i.e., not Telvanni Peninsula). Can anyone confirm or deny that? Like has anyone found a lead for Apocryphal Well from a Telvanni Peninsula chest? Tia

I got one lead from Telvanni and two from Apocrypha, not sure if they only drop in that specific area.

4 million now. But I found another one. My second Apocrypha Fossil, Worm. It's a cool furnishing but holy expletive this is expensive.

Funny little aside: I'm finding TONS of Galen, HI, Blackwood, etc maps for like 100 gold. If I were a new player, I'd just zone hop and flip maps all day. Yes, I COD them back to guildies. But everyone else: Boom. Capitalism. Sorry.

i would agree, i still have a huge list of items from treasure maps i havent gotten yet because the drop rates are abyssmal, and thats even when you find the right treasure maps

for disclosure, i do not, and refuse to, buy treasure maps, i only use ones i either find as drops, or get given ones people dont want (because there are people that hate treasure maps and would rather give them away to guildies lol)

im still missing some of the codex entries for the original antiquity motifs that released 3 years ago because the right leads refuse to drop, and i dont get enough of the maps

i had a really really lucky weekend running in IC leveling my new arcanist (i found 1x galen map, 2x deadlands maps, 1x telvanni penninsula map, 1x blackwood map) and the galen map finally gave me the eldertide shoulders lead, and i got another furnishing from the telvanni map

i also got another half dozen maps, but they were for zones i had no leads to get so sold a few and gave some to a friend

it would definitely be nice to add the lead chances to regular chests, with a significantly higher drop chance from the treasure map chests to make it balanced
