Elderly personality

I've seen many NPCs with this personality/idle since at least Elsweyr DLC. My main character is an elderly Khajiit and this would be perfect for him. I'm fond of the more laid back, casual personalities and I think this one could work well with a lot of people's characters.

maybe change the cheer emote so your character throws out their back or something too, id think thatd be silly

Has definitely been in the game since at least Morrowind.
There's an NPC that uses it during the main quest there.

@meekmiko Ah right, it's been a while since I've done that quest line. So the animations have been in the game for over 6 years and players still can't have it as a personality? Come on ZOS. This trend of locking cool cosmetics/emotes behind NPCs only is getting pretty tiresome.

Been asking for this one and the shy/timid one for years. We see so many npcs using it, but so far we don't have access to it and I want it for at least two characters

I'd definitely like to see the elderly and the timid personality in-game, but please don't make them too extreme.

As to making them a Crown Store purchase, that's the easy way to do it, but it ignores the fact that in-game rewards gained through playing, not only boost player participation but also sales of the game itself.
We need a balance between what's available in the store and in the game. At present, I feel it's too heavily tipped towards the store, though possibly that's changing with this expansion (or maybe I'm just a sunny little optimist).

Oh goodness this would be a great addition to Personalities!

It would be hilarious if your character would have a walking stick, Gandalf style, to lean on when idle. Like the torch in the Treasure Hunter.

I've always wanted a character that walks with their staff like the Prophet and has a posture like Witchmother Olyve. I'd buy that in an instant.

Totally agree. Create an very old character with the posture of an Archmagister Telvanni is not really interesting... except your toon IS a magicka Dunmer and you have the intention to make him on top of all mages.

I like this idea too.

Although I suspect both my older characters would insist they're not that old, even though my crafter has been retired for nearly 10 years. My sorcerer would probably want to give me a lecture on how dunmer physiology differs from humans.

This definitely. ZOS has a tendency to make personalities so exaggerated and extreme, when is annoying since I mostly want more subtle ones. Our latest personality, the Passion's Muse personality, was so strange to me. Felt so random with the subtle clasped hand idle, exaggerated catwalk walk, the yoga pose, the glowy glower summoning. Deadlands Firewalker was so much nicer.

If we get an old/elder and shy personality I hope it will mainly be like how they appear on npcs. Not random strange emotes, walks and such.

I doubt so too, because ZOS has shown numerous times how lacking they are in adding cosmetics we can obtain in game, compared to many other mmos. But that isn't going to make me stop wanting or requesting it.

It's a little unrealistic (yes, I know, fantasy world) for Elderly to adventure multiplanar hellscapes fighting all manner of people and beasts while in their frail twilight years. Even Abnur Tharn showed his age in Elsweyr.

It's everyone's own choice, but generally speaking: Who says that my elderly character has to do that? Maybe he's my crafter?

Only if there are the following Emotes

Lawn Emote where they shake their cane or fist and yell "Stay off my Lawn!"

Tired Emote, they have to walk slight hunched over holding the small of their back.

Huh? Emote where they cup their hand to their ear to hear better

Nap Emote where they sleep sitting in a chair

All of these are modeled off of my daily activities.

These would be great, as the more Personalities the better. I wish we had a frightened one too, though I suppose a timid one would work for that.

As "elderly" myself, I'm not at all interested in an elderly personality. I'm good with them making it available though.

That annoys me too. A lot of them are like pantomime versions of the types of characters they're supposed to be. I suppose because they're charging real money for them ZOS wanted to make sure it was instantly obvious to everyone around when someone is using a personality and which one it is, so no one would feel like they wasted money on something other players won't notice, but it puts me off using a lot of them.

I do use the assassin one (which was free) on one character, but he's the kind of obnoxious show-off who would want everyone to know he's an assassin, contradictory as that might be.

I also use the thief and deadlands firewalker ones because those aren't too bad. I have the scholar one, but keep having to turn it on and off because it's too much to use it all the time.

My old, storytelling and uh "retired" shadowscale argonian is perfectly capable of travelling the countrysides.
We also see plenty of old people running around adventuring and whatnot. Abnur Tharn who was mentioned is one of them, and he mainly started feel extra old because he had lately magically overexerted himself in the Elsweyr story. Many mages in TES is not going to let something like age stop them.

I agree. Just wanted to state that our characters don't neccessarily have to be fighting 24/7 through whole Nirn and all Daedric planes - it's up to us what kind of character to play, it could just be a artisan or a trader as well (no matter what age).

It's funny how ZOS won't give us emotes/personalities that have been in the base game for years. Another one I can think of that people would love is the standard sword sharpening emote that NPCs use, or the floor scrubbing one. Zenimax makes up these new emotes that people don't ask for but won't give us emotes that people do ask for that are already in the game data. smh
