I don't know if anyone has noticed but Provisioning levels ridiculously fast.
By level 10 I had attained level 25 Provisioning, while all other trades sit at about level 5.
I can make the finest sweet rolls in Skyrim I guess. Woo.

The trade skills are very poorly balanced. I hope they will fix that in time, but expect nothing in the near future. I am focused on cloth on my main, and have my husband giving me all of his cloth. Still, I somehow have twice that skill in alchemy just by burning off excess mats I pick up along the way.I wasn't an Elder Scrolls fan until ESO. I did like the Construction Set for Morrowind, though.0 -

It's intentional. Not every skill is intended to be as hard as every other. Food is cheap and you consume a lot of it, so making food is relatively easy. That said, the best food in the game will require you to spend points in the skill tree.
Weapons and armor on the other hand are much more restricted and ultimately more powerful, hence the leveling of these skills is much harder and expensive and takes much longer (especially to get the many traits).0 -

You will still be able to get those recipes by buying them from other users, and if the mats to make the items are dropping for you then you will easily be able to level provisioning at low levels Getting 25 or 30 by level 10 is not that hard, compared to Blacksmithing or Tailoring or Woodworking (nor should it be).

I am glad this is getting fixed. I will spend more materials leveling it up, and since they are everywhere a sink for them is really needed.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.
Meet my characters:Command: Do the thing.
Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

(Increase Max Magicka and Stamina by 312 for 1 hour)
It takes Honey Comb (common), Imperial Stock (Buy from NPC) and Onion (uncommon) to make.
I will never bother with the V5 purple versions as the 'extra' parts they need are too rare to bother with.
I have a 70 onion and a few stacks of Honey Comb so I should be well-fed for a while.
The Tier 3 (purple) recipes 'appear' broken as SOME of the parts are from hirelings only (Oats and Tomatos) which means purple Bread/Pies and Soup/Stews are worthless (too costly to make)
This means the ONLY purple food recipes worth making are Grilled ones. They use Garlic & Pepper and both are farmable.
Now if you have the Grilled V5 food recipe.... I know that would sell well.

eNumbra✭✭✭✭✭Using one of the crafting XP add-ons was pretty eye-opening.
Was getting about 9,000 xp per crafted recipe on the same character that was getting ~900 for similar level enchanting glyphs.
Obviously they're trying to balance based on scarcity of material and effect on character ability, but when my main hit lvl 50 Provisioning at level 23 or so there's probably something wrong.
Now if only they'd fix the provisioning drops in vet areas we'd be golden.

I guess I must be one of the lucky ones. I levelled 2 characters so that I got 2 hirelings to level 3. On my second day I was sent 4 x tomatoes.

I don't think so. You get far more inspiration for making a single food item than blacksmithing a single item of the same level. The same applies for alchemy, you can level it as fast as you like. I put next to no effort into that and it's my second most advanced skill (after provisioning of course).MMO PvE veteran looking for suitable guild:
