Shadow Quality on Apple Silicon Macs

I just purchase an Mac Mini M2 Pro for Xcode development, and decided to install ESO on it. It works surprisingly well. At 1440p I get 50-60 fps at my Home (it will be invariably worse in town). I could probably squeeze more performance if I could lower the Shadow Quality to Medium or Low. However every time I try lower Shadow Quality it kicks me out of the game, and my Shadow Quality stays at High. I know Apple Silicon is no longer supported, but I thought I'll ask if anyone else had this same problem, and perhaps had a possible solution.

Edit: I took off VSync and I am now getting 60-74fps even in Leyawiin. I occasionally dip to the mid 50's but that's rare now. So far no tearing.

I have found tweaking the video settings to be quite a balancing act. Moving from Intel to M1 and then with game updates (very recently Necrom) require some time to push and pull on various settings to see how much performance I can get vs quality of image. Even folks with identical hardware seem to get different results from their tweaks.

Shadow I keep at Low. It helps to make your ground contact apparent, but I'd rather get more visual boost elsewhere than making my shadow clearer.

I wish I could lower my shadow settings, but the game keeps kicking me out when I try.

I was able to lower Shadow Quality to Low. I don't know if there was an update but this time I was able to change my Shadow Quality settings. I am now getting fps in the 80's.
