Had an "unlinking from STEAM" question on another forum and need to confirm the "linked" account means STEAM/XBOX/PS which would contain only those system purchases, not any made on the ZOS Store for the attached ESO Account.

Please be aware that unlinking The Elder Scrolls Online from an account has several effects: All progress on the linked game account will be halted Crowns, virtual currency, and / or any purchases made on that account will not be refundable or transferable Inability to transfer game progress or content to another account
Linking your accounts/consoles to a different ESO account will not restore the items listed above.

Unlinking from Steam would lead to the same effects as unlinking on other platforms.- All progress on the linked game account will be halted
- Crowns, virtual currency, and / or any purchases made on that account will not be refundable or transferable
- Inability to transfer game progress or content to another account

Yes thank you but was trying to confirm the linked game account is the STEAM or Console account, and NOT the established ESO Account?
What is the remaining status of the ESO Account containing the accumulated Characters/progress/loot? Can it still be accessed in any form to play?
Or does this effectively also kill the ESO account as well and is no longer accessible since you can't re-link it to another STEAM/Console purchase?
Apologies if not speaking clearly but it reads like if you ever unlink an ESO Account it effectively removes access to that ESO account.

Unlinking your ESO account would not remove access from it. However as listed earlier, unlinking can lead to lose of various things such as crowns and progress.The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited - ZeniMax Online Studios

StormBlade512✭✭✭Just to piggy back on this, if I were to unlink my ESO account from my PSN account for any reason and relink it for any reason, would that have a negative effect on my in-game account i.e. characters, cp, crowns etc. I buy everything through psn just for clarity0
