Are Templar healers viable in trifecta content?

Okay I am a Templar Healer, my HPS are pretty good (I know that the community does not care about that when it comes to logs). I focus a lot on healing. I have seen that high-end groups/guilds run with Warden/night blade/necros based around powerful group buffs, mass res and DPS support.
I would like to run trifecta. My up times on combat prayer is hit or miss and I don't have any other buff other shard, which as you already know is a synergy, the gear I love to run is sanctuary/ jorvald's guidance with winter's respite. These sets seem to work well for me. I see those high end groups wanting very specific builds. My parse is laughable at best, so we don't even touch light attack weaving (when I play my fingers rest about an inch above the keys and my mouse button (weird yes, but comfortable for me.)).so my question is, are Templar healers viable in trifecta content?

It may not be easy to find a group to be honest, but yes, templar healers are viable at least for most trifecta runs.

You would have to overthink your focus on healing as well as choice of sets tho, as the group is dependant on the buffs provided by healers. So it's necessary to run this very specific builds you mentioned.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Yes, templar healer is still viable. I’ve gotten both my tris (GH and IR) with the other healer being a templar (I’m a warden). Newer trials may be more of a struggle since templar DPS isn’t doing well either but if you get to that point you can try out the other classes and see if you do like any others or not. Like Braffin implied though, you’ll have to wear different sets. Jorvuld is only useful when you’re new and learning buff rotations or using roaring opportunist with it. Winter’s respite is useless 99% of the time. Sanctuary is useless 100% of the time. As group healer (templar), you’d be put in roaring opportunist (backbar weapon + jewelry) + jorvuld (body) + dsa restro (frontbar) + magma incarnate (head) + spaulder (shoulder). If you do dungeons, get yourself spell power cure as a body set (pair it wit whatever you want, though powerful assault or master architect are popular choices). That said, the sets you have to wear may change depending on group, fight, and trial. Also, definitely work on combat prayer uptimes. The name of the game is uptimes of buffs and debuffs, as that’s what people will look at logs of you for and judge you based off of.

Also, you say your only buff is shards (and combat prayer)? I don’t know templar healer very well but get the healing morph of orb from undaunted. I think templars use both. Shard for tanks far out of group, orb for everyone else.

I mean yes theoretically. That said if you look at most score pushing groups they are saying they will likely trade it out for an Arcanist healer because of the sheer amount of group buffs they offer. That doesnt mean they wont be accepted into a trifecta run but on the min/max end it will probably be harder. That said there based on what im seeing temps may have some play as a dps to round out the team, one temp but still mostly dk and necro stacked. Time will tell but in my guilds on ps/na this is what is being floated.
