no, you can also get the items from refining materials (turning hide scraps into normal leather) and from hirelings

90% of it comes from deconstructing - but once you realise how useless gold is in this game, you'll be deconstructing pretty well everything anyway.
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

Well the first 150-200k are worthwhile, but once you've bought up your backpack, bank and extra horse...then yeah money is just there to repair gear if you bother.
