The dead class is the necromancer.

I rarely see posts about the necromancer. The synergy mechanic was destroyed and now it makes no sense to play this class. Zos how to play for this class?? This question was asked by every second necromancer in the class balance thread in the patch when you destroyed him.
How to play this broken class?? Seriously, this class keeps afloat one dungeon. dragonstar arena. Thanks to broken sets from this dungeon, you can play for this class. I'm talking about two-handed weapons with which you can create bomb builds and dual weapons that would fight 1 vs 1. But without such sets it is impossible to play. That's [snip] up..

mmtaniac✭✭✭✭✭Yep he's necromancer after all , he like deads. Jokes aside, he have his problems like every classes. He still have some burst less reliable but still have it and good defense. People whine mostly when die fast in pvp and can't deal enough damage. Thats why templar threads are everywhere our damage not exist anymore. Necromancer need some changes i would like too see class Major Sorcery/Brutality and maybe few changes too but im not focused on this class enough to know his problems.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭They lack far too many buffs and Corpse gameplay actively hinders the class instead of helping it. Give the class a sticky DoT, Major Sorcery/Brutality, and completely rework the way corpses and corpse abilities function.

✭✭To be viable as a dps class yes, it needs some help. It basically has zero viability in pvp for example where cro bombers were once common placr. That said, in end game pve it is a staple. No team runs without an ec cro and a necro sees extremely high use as an off tank as well. As i said- for dps, yeah it needs love but across the board it is far from a dead class.0 -

Templar is miles better than necro in PvP even with neutered jabs, and it just received massive defensive buffs and backlash is useable again.Try playing a templar and then let us know how dead you think necromancer is.Balanced by people with no prior gamedev experience, couldn't fix performance issues in a decade, can't code a real matchmaking algorithm to save their lives, more maintenance downtime than all the other MMOs put together, more bugs introduced than bugs fixed every big patch, same stagnant combat for years.

I run into more templars than Necros for sure. I’ve had to dump the “kill 20 necromancers” quest so many times because I can’t seem to find enough to fill it out, no issues with any other class.

I think best part of lacking M sorcery/brutality is using rally or rarely dual wield gap closer for that buff on stamina chracters. I think it makes the class bit more unique. I think the correct way to buff the class is making it less clunky and more fun. After this, just increase the numbers and now you have a funny strong class. Balance is all about numbers after all.0 -

Nah I don't see it. My original character is a templar (now a crafter) but I play a Necro more often in pvp because it. But there's no question in my mind that my templar is a better class. Especially now that templars have a HOT. Almost everything that I had asked for in the past, I got.
My list of wants for Templar is now down to making hasty prayer into a better speed buff.
My list of wants for Necro is very, very long.4 -

Like other posters said, no you don't. ✭✭✭✭✭As many legitimate gripes as I have about Templar dps, I have to admit that my necros are in an even worse spot. I honestly don’t even remember the last time I logged onto either of my necros. They are only marginally effective and marginally fun, and I will always choose other classes over playing them.
I’ve thought about converting my magcro to a healer, but it will still be less preferred than my Templar and warden healers. I thought about converting my stamcro to a tank, but it will still be less fun for me than my dragonknights. Nihilr✭✭✭✭I think the problem is that Magcro has too many types of attacks: 2 Disease (both ranged aoe), 1 Melee AoE Bleed, 1 (slow) ranged poison, 1 physical ranged damage. The magicka skills are Magic+fire+frost+shock. Way too many types of attacks to focus on a strength. If you can get 2 common themed abilities (even for a 1-bar build)--they aren't strong enough on their own to be a threat in PvP battles. I more often see a Magcro tank with purge and scythe, trolling players trying to siege keeps.
Before this last update--My husband's stamcro tried using blight sleleton and disease siphon paired with Plaguebreak and Durok's Bane, but 1vXer's can still heal through it all. He started another build but is disappointed in how it's going. Basically giving up on his Necromancer this year. Not interested in Arcanist either.1 -
Uvi_AUT✭✭✭✭✭I finally switched my Main too. Necromancer is just annoying to play. Targeted threesecond-Cast, no sticky Dot. Corpsemechanic feels awful.
No after switching to Sorc I cant believe I ever played Necro.Registered since 2014, Customer Service lost my Forum-Account and can't find it.....0
