Impen vs Reinforced (Heavy only)

If you wind up with two heavies for a monster set. Is impen or reinforced going to provide the best protection (pvp) given the current meta?

Thanks!

So ideally, if you are only running 1 or 2 pieces of heavy armor, you should run a heavy reinforced chest, as you'd be getting more armor value out of that.

However, if you're only able to run heavy on your Monster Set, then I'd probably go impen. It's not that reinforced won't be good, but it's less efficient at that point. If you really feel like you need more resistances, feel free to put reinforced on instead.

So I always run reinf on a heavy chest piece. Just wondering if armoring the monster set is overkill given very few people seem to push crit damage. (LOTS of rending slashes though)

If you're already in a reinforced chest then I would go Impen personally. Crit resist is hard to come by.

I usually wear heavy reinforced chest + one or two more pieces of heavy (from legs, shoulders, helm, boots) which are also reinforced. The rest of the traits (4-5 items) can be impen (or well fitted / divines if you can have someone with rally cry in your group)

Pretty much the same as everyone else said.

Running a heavy monster helm, in addition to best and legs, is a fine idea. And reinforced would work well. Running heavy shoulders should really be avoided.

But if you can't avoid it for now... I'd choose a 3rd option. Go sturdy and block a lot

Don't legs and shoulders carry the same multipliers/armor values? Don't have it front of me to check.

That's news to me honestly, I thought shoulders and waist were the smallest.

Waist is the smallest, gloves are the second smallest. Chest is the largest, and the rest are the same (second largest).

It's confusing because this doesn't follow the logic for Enchantments; Head, Chest, and Legs are the same large value for enchantments with everything else being the same small value.

Nor does it follow logic that should pads protect the same as legs or helm 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well. Thanks for that. No, it isn't super logical, but still I feel a little silly. Probably something I knew long ago and since forgot.

I've been wearing light shoulders since hybridization, LOL. To be even more honest I think I've destroyed some heavy ones.

But returning to the subject... Since I seem to be off base here... So is sturdy not a good option if you're wearing a "lot" of heavy armor?

At that point it depends more on your playstyle. A heavy reinforced chest can be fit onto pretty much any build nowadays, so that's a given. After that, it's personal preference.

If you find you're getting blown up a lot by crit combos, slot some Impen. If you're a player that likes to block a lot, slot some Sturdy. If you like to roll a lot, slot some Well-fitted.
