Is 90k DPS good enough to attempt trial and dungeon trifecta’s?

So I finally grinded all the BiS gear and tried my build on a trial dummy and managed to hit 90k dps. Can I finally attempt trifecta’s for dungeons and trials?

Dungeons yes, trials maybe. Some of the easier trials I think would be possible, but some of the harder ones like rockgrove I think no if the whole team is pulling roughly that dps unless they are already well versed in the mechs and can do hard mode no deaths

You probably was able to do/attempt that all along the way, but it's not really that gear dependent rather skill, adaptation speed, communication and team play and such.

i suspect it differs between servers etc, but on PS EU I see 100-110k for harder content requested (vet HM on DLC trials, newer trial trifectas etc). TBH as mentioned above its a bit of a learning experience, knowing the mechanics, positioning etc means you can get away with lower DPS, but its harder to learn with also low DPS in trials. EG Vet sunspire on the ice dragon - lower dps and learning the vet mechs is a real opportunity to be swamped by the atronachs

DPS parsing is nice, but it doesn't give you any idea of how you do in real combat conditions.

    - if you can solo normal dungeons, you are ready for group veteran dungeons.
    - if you can solo veteran dungeons, you are ready for group trifectas

And I mean a solo no death run, that takes about 20-30min.
Pretty much any dungeon with "1" in its name is a good test.
Soloing Wayrest Sewers 1 should seem easy, for instance.

Trials are a different beast. You probably better join a dedicated guild and take advice from the group leader.

That would depend on the trial content you want to participate in as well as the group itself. Is it a normal trial, veteran trial, veteran hard mode trial, a trifecta run, are you with a seasoned group of trial players, mostly newer to trials players or a mix of them as well as the team comp and sets brought to the trial? Those various levels of trials all have different requirements for success as do the trials themselves as some of the latter trials like Rockgrove and DSR being much more difficult and unforgiving than MOL or the Craglorn trials.

There is no secret number. It is a matter of progression. You can definitely get started on a lot of dungeons and some trials. But if you don't have vet clears start there. If you need hard modes start there. Your dps will go up with practice and it takes time to get all trifectas.

The thing with 90k dps is you might get into a trifecta group for something like vCR if you know the right people. But 100k+ dps are a dime a dozen now days so you will likely get passed up by many groups. Harder trials are likely to ask for 115K-120k+ (DSR and RG)

A lot of raidleads will request logs to see how you actually perform in content (for PC). What dps numbers do you hit on actual bosses, are you spam dying, does it look like you understand how to run a coherent build, what is your cpm.

I personally haven't parsed on the dummy since before the whole U36 debacle. But I have all trial trifectas except Sanity Edge which just came out. But I have things like good logs to back my performance. So if you are a PC player definitely grab logs when you perform good on trials and keep them somewhere you can reference until you get better logs to override them.

I would suggest joining training runs for vet trials and vet hms first because trifecta progs usually ask for hm logs, not just parses.
Same with the dungeons, really. You don't have to solo them imo, but you need to be comfortable with vet mechanics. If you can get vet dlc speedruns while doing 50% group dps and not dying, you're probably ready for trifectas.

Dungeons yes, trials it depends on group and which trial. That said, if you find a group you want to trifecta with then they can probably help you get the damage they require.

Well, some dungeon HMs I’ve done are Falkreath hold, scalecaller Peak, Fang Lair, March or sacrifices and Dread Cellar to name a few, but that was with a good group. I have also done all Craglorn trial HMs and a vateshran hollows no death run but missed the trifecta by less than a minute. I really want to start going after things like godslayer and dawnbringer, but I’m not sure if I’m qualified yet.

Definitely do the trial HMs before the trifecta. 90k should be enough for all trial HMs except for RG and DSR, where people ask for 110-120k.

There are raid teams that play at pretty much all levels. A raid team sets requirements for team members based on their goals. So the first step is making a team that has the goal to work on a trial trifecta. For some teams, it will be more of a challenge than other teams which comes down to how well the entire team and its parts, perform.

Even then, the best teams do not just do a trifecta. They work up to it as they learn the trial better and improve how well they clear the trial.

On top of what someone can parse on a dummy, a raid leader will look at how a player performs in the actual raids. That comes down to more than just DPS.

    Good luck.

The hardmodes would be a good start, I think.
You should check LFG channels on big ESO discords (ESO university and the like), they often recruit people for trial teams there.
