Yep that was my gut reaction too. Specifically I didn't want the first skill from the healing skill line to cost stamina on my solo / PvP stamina arcanist nor on my potential arcanist tank. Block-casting a self-heal is a thing. You don't want to use the resource you're blocking with for that. Yes, there are exceptions. I like Stormweaver on one of my magblades, for example, but that is a rather special case. In short, if I wanted a stam heal on a stam arcanist, I'd slot Vigor. The class nudges you towards the tanking skill line for magicka self heals, and towards shielding instead of healing. There is also one skill that selects your lower resource. Go figure. It is horrible. The benefit of hybridization is that you can alternate mag/stam skill and have higher total resources and higher effective regen. If skills use the highest pool, you are stuck back in 2014 stacking into one resource.

If you lose control of that, and all your skills use main resource no matter what, it would be problematic. While the change may happen someday, ZOS likely need more time to test and balance. Arcanist was designed from start to be hybrid. Other classes were not.
