Can we please get an official dev repsonse to the utter lack of care for sorcerers?

I know I'm not the only sorcerer main who's been more than annoyed with the lack of caring for sorcerers in both pve and pvp besides a few small buffs. And the few small buffs in Updates 35 and 36 were for pet-using DPS sorcs and a 10% damage increase to the 2nd part of Crystal Weapon. We've been asking for anything more than the absolute bare minimum for a long while now, but the combat team either ignores people's wishes and feedback or just pretends there is no issue with sorcs struggling.
In pve, sorc dps builds have little to no variation. Magicka and stam DPS use the same sets, skills, and pets, while heavy attack sorcs still use pets.
In pvp, sorcs, magicka sorcs in particular, have been slowly going extinct due to wards just being extremely weak and damage being too low to compete with the tanky pvp builds of today. Even with the slight buffs U37 brings to wards, they'll still be eaten away within seconds with the health cap AND being cut in half by Battle Spirit. Even the unique escape skill of Bolt Escape and morphs for sorcs are no longer going to be unique with the upcoming changes to Mist form. These changes also give the functionality of Ball of Lightning to Mist form and morphs. Streak will be the only unique version with the stun. There's a myriad more issues with sorcs being neglected for other classes, like Dragonknight and Warden. DKs get Major Berserk with a chain, but sorcs have to use an ulti that can't be self-synergized to get the same buff. Wardens got a unique 10% damage done buff, but sorcs have been stuck with the same version of Amplitude for years. Bloodthirsty doesn't even synergize with the passive.
There's much more to the sorcerer's issues, but these are the main ones I personally feel hurt the most. I used to love not having to run both pets to be a good sorc dps, but I have to use both now regardless of if I go stam or mag. And when in pvp, I melt so easily. My shield only can get to 10k at most, and both siege and a couple smacks from someone deletes it. I'm just so tired of not hearing a shred of acknowledgement that this class is just a shadow of its former self while the other classes, for the most part, keep trucking on.

PS: I know templars have been having some struggles too. You guys are pretty much in the same boat as us sorcs. Don't hesitate to be vocal too.

I agree. The heavy attack Sorcerer is the best option for this class and the Templar, as of late, has been getting killed by nerfs.

All classes use the same sets tbh. I agree though that we need some lone wolf passive that increases our damage somehow if pets are not there.
But if we get that passive, what then? We will fill the pet slots with more guild and weapon abilities that are available to all other classes and stand out even less than before.
This is not a sorc issue. It is just the way the game was designed. You can run Whorl with maw and aegis caller and both your pets and dump an army on your emies. It's not really the most opti.al setup but name another class that can do that

Add this to one of Blood Magic's passives:
    • Gain Minor Mending and Minor Vitality for 6 seconds if you are below 70% health (increasing your healing done and healing received by 8%). This effect can occur once every 11 seconds.

Because Sorcerers don't have good survivability for PVP compared to other classes.

(I realize this is similar to the Naga Shaman crafted set. But adding this buff would mean one weakened set — not completely, as they could be combined for better uptime — for sorcerers VS all other sorcerer builds instantly gaining value.)

Add this to one of Daedric Summoning passives:
    • Extra damage with weapon attacks and skills if you don't have Sorcerer pets active. Could be flat on hit, extra offensive stats, or extra percentage like the Warden.

Add this to one of the Storm Calling passives:
    • Some cleave/splash damage with light and heavy attacks using Destruction staves. This doesn't apply to Lightning Staff's heavy attack.

This is in line with U37's new splashing for Mage's Fury and it's thematically fitting. It's also in line with Warden's new Piercing Cold balancing.

I think these should make heavy attack pet builds less obvious meta builds.

I really like these ideas. A passive with no pets being active is really good too. Would really help with the people who don't like using pets.

    Bring back no pet sorc.

I remember in ESO beta, people were claiming that ESO would be the end of coocke cutter spec, everyone claiming otherwise was being shamed and rosted.

Now ESO is probably the MMO that his the most geared toward coockie spec. Not only pretty much all the class spec are the same but even the different class use the same set of gear.

Umm. I will agree that there are meta damage trial sets that get used more than most, however there are play styles and gear combinations that can be used to push the same content for instance, WW is viable for most end game content, I’m using a bleed build on my Warden that can push meta do’s numbers. I could go frost on that same Warden, and create another Niche build. Sorcs can use pet sets to push end game. So in retrospect, and as someone who doesn’t necessarily like meta, I find plenty of ways to approach end game outside of Relequens and whorls

    If you’re a PvPer:

Look at MagSorc, and look at DK.

It is clear from the extreme disparity that balancing these classes has not been a priority for a very long time.

I see no evidence to suggest that it will be.

I just started playing again after a 9 month break. I took my outdated sorc and parsed it on the trial dummy and parsed nearly 60k on my very first parse. No practice runs. No adjustment to skills or champion points or anything. My rotation is pretty basic. Light attacks between skills, and then 2-3 heavy attacks while the skills are burning, rinse and repeat.

When you can do that without much stress or practice - I'm sorry - but the sorc class doesn't need to be a top priority for "some help."

I can't speak to PVP performance right now since I haven't set foot in Cyrodil/BG's yet, but sorcs definitely seem to be performing just fine in the PVE setting.

The reason why sorc has a problem in PvP is because it's the only class without a burst heal.
Crit surge isn't reliable in PvP.
