ESO has stopped working

Four times today in Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha, I have gotten a total screen freeze, followed by the Windows blue circle of thinking and "ESO has stopped working" message, requiring a restart of the game. No idea what's causing it. I checked the usual suspects like addons and background activity and nada. Ideas, anyone?
