Maintenance for the week of December 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – December 22, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC)

Appreciate maintenance not being at end of event

It was nice that they waited until the event was over to do maintenance this time around. They would head off a lot of complaints if they did it this way going forward.

Yeah, definitely nice not to lose tickets for once. Now if only they could do it while EU are sleeping...

Are we having extended maintenance? It should be over by now.

Probably just finishing up initializing servers and making sure everything is running, they would have announced extended already I think

on the other hand you can argue having the maintenance on other than regular days has impacted a far grater number negatively than having it take place during the event, given a majority of people don't do such event.

You COULD argue this, but you’d probably be wrong. Literally everyone I know that hates pvp still participated just enough to get tickets.

I was really happy it worked out that way too. Got a few more tickets than expected.

I am most probably not wrong at all, given most of the people I know did not participate, and the usual places did not seam any less populated, now sure the PvP areas will have seen a higher population than normal, but it is still a minority of the player base.

Most people I know doesn't even know this game exists. That aside we all have our own little circles and those circles tend to (as related to this game) enjoy the same activities. You don't join a housing guild because you like trials kind of thing.

Many of my friends in game that don't like PvP spent time prior to the event completing quests to turn in later. Those with multiple characters would sit those characters in what they hoped would be a campaign that doesn't get pop locked right nest to the quest turn in. That way they log in, turn in, port to Imperial City, turn in then walk out the door and be done for the day. No way for me to know if that was wide spread or not outside my circle of friends.

So what people we know thinks about an event really isn't a very good way to judge that event across the entire population. Looking at how many people were standing on a platform light attacking NPCs to get a daily done does give some indication that there were a lot of people that had no interest in PvP but wanted the tickets.
THe queue being well over 100 to get into Gray Host even during nonpeak hours is a clue many people who do like PvP were also taking advantage of the event.

and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."
