Make the last dungeon boss give the skill point instead of the quest.

It doesn't fix rushing groups for gear or whatever, but at least this way you can get still get your skill points without having to rush the quest, saving it for when you can solo or find a friendly group.

Public dungeons already have this, where you kill a certain "group clallenge" boss and automatically get a point, so it's not impossible tech-wise.

Alternatively make dungeon quests repeatable, like the trial and solo arena ones. Then, while you still have to rush the quest the first time for the point, you can go back later on the same character and see it again at a slower pace if you want.

It's not exactly story/solo mode, but may be easier to implement.

    the reason the public dungeon bosses give the skill point on kill, is because the skill point is tied to the achievement

    for group dungeons, it makes more sense on the quest because those have a normal and a vet version, and you could get the skill point from running the quest on either difficulty

    if those were tied to the achievement, it would force people to either do the dungeon on normal or vet to get the skill point, but it would also require them to completely change those achievements to be per toon (which i certainly dont want, its annoying enough that there are already a few achievements speckled in that are per character)

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    Thats where the pub dungeons and the instanced ones would differ. I'm just saying it's possible to tie the actual giving of a skillpoint to a boss without involving a quest. Skillpoints themselves are still per char, so it wouldn't have to involve achievements at all.

    Maelstrom arena is like that too, though I'm not sure if doing the quest the first time or simply completing the arena the first time is what actually gives the point.

    At any rate, if it is somehow a problem, then making the quest repeatable (without the point on subsequent runs, like the arenas), would also work.

    maelstrom skill point is also tied to the achievements (which is why those achievements are per character, and there is 1 skill pt for normal and one for vet)
