Maintenance for the week of April 6:

Extended Maintenance: Loss of one day jester festival event ticket

I'd kindly ask the devs to extend the jester festival by one day or give one time twice daily reward tomorrow (two golden boxes plus 6 event tickets).

Considering that the fragments for the jester costumes are already too rare this lost day increases the rarity. But only for us EU players...

They gave one additional event day in advance for exactly this day already.

They started the Jester's event a day earlier than usual to account for this.

No, they extended to compensate for the fact that SOME peoople couldn't get tickets on account of long maintenance (planned for 14 hours) - if maintenance ends up taking up the whole ticket window (on account of being extended more times), it is not what they told players would happen.

How many times does the EU have extended maint before you realise this is a regular thing now

I don't care much about the tickets, but it's important to note that it wasn't 14 hours. It'll be 18 hours or more.

In cases like this it would have been better to announce a 24 hours maintenance so players could plan their free time better.

The Event started one day earlier this time. About the mainteance. So no need to extend it.

15 minutes to log in, do one quest.

    24 hours in one day.

Complaining about losing tickets is irrelevant until 24 hours have passed.

Well it is very relevant for people who have to work and earn money to shovel some of it into ZOS pockets - for instance by working in night shifts etc.

I agree EU should get an extra day on the event, so that we can get as many days as NA gets. It would only be fair.

So. ZOS should ask every player in the game what their work schedule is, then work around the few people who cant log in for 15 minutes once in a day?

If 3 tickets are THAT important, people will find the time.

One issue here is that the anniversary event starts then this end.
Number of people who want jester event over anniversary is small.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

If maintenance is further extended (say, till 10pm or midnight) then yes, we should get compensation. To wit: Two separate golden boxes and two lots of event tickets from the first quest tomorrow instead of one.

Regardless of whether "the event was already extended", what's happened would then be: North American players get 9 days worth of event, European players get only 8 days worth of event... Regardless of how long the event lasted, it could be extended by an extra week but the result would still be the same: that EU players are being shorted by a day, and should be compensated by a day's rewards.

If, on the other hand, the servers come online again at 7pm British time, as is currently planned, then this would seem fair. Even if you don't have time to play for a long time, there should be time this evening to log in and chase one pig for 3 tokens.

But, the event was intentionally implemented with an 8 day, 9 day split between NA and EU servers. That was done and determined in advance. And that is how ZOS has always implemented server downtime "payback", as a blanket extension or a blanket reward to all servers. Every time this ever happens, it happens for everyone. The year they extended Anniversary for like 2 more weeks, everyone, even though only one platform was impacted by the issues. This isn't new, and at least this time around, they planned it in advance rather than adding it on ad hoc.

So you are saying there has already been times when the EU has had an extra day of events that the US did not get? If that is so then I am fine without compensation, but I have never heard of that because Americans would go mental if we got one more day than them.

You would be surprised but some people actually have to sleep and go to work after. And the EU time zones are not only UTS, some of us live like UTS +3? +5 and even +8

Didnt they extend the event for one more day than usual precisly for that?

Did they expressly say it was extended?

Standard events last 13 - 14 days. How can one consider an event extended if it doesn't meet the standard time frame?

Look at it this way whitestrake event was canceled and so lasted 0 days so if the upcoming one lasts a single 24 hour period it would be extended event..

Extended as in they “preemptively added a day,” yes:

Agreed. I just accepted the fact I'd miss a day's tickets, writs, daily quests, etc. The maintenance started 10am yesterday in my time zone while I was at work, and finished at about the time I left for work today. But I'm not complaining about this: as others have already mentioned, a day was added to the event to allow for this.
