Low drop rate on Scrap of Minstel's Cloth...

Why for this event are older event items in the drop RNG for the Gold container. Sure hope this is not the new standard for ticket events.

I was really hoping that the drop rate on this would be almost guaranteed so at the very least all the people who wanted the coin instead would always have something to list. But, it isn't the case at all. But in addition to it being 1 roll a day, it also seems like the drop chance is pretty low.

Five golden boxes, not one scrap dropped. I was still able to finish the costume by buying a fragment from a guild trader and the rest using tickets earned (I started the event with 12). Amount of crowns spent to complete this event's collection: ZERO! Walking around as a phoney Argonian feels like victory.

I got 3 in 4 days, and bought another to make up for it.

Here’s the thing, if my RNG still remains high and I get one for each remaining day, I’ll only have 9…one less than needed. Literally one a day isn’t even enough.

And I don’t even want the costume!

You can use tickets to buy SOME, but though unlikely, it is possible to get through this even with no scraps. I still have not gotten one on my main acct, the two I've gotten were both on an alt account, which is why I just went ahead and bought them.

Well. If I knew this a bit earlier, I wouldn't sell my scraps for 250k the first two days.
Anyway it's really terrible drop and I can feel for people who like this outfit.

I've dropped 4 so far. Bought 5 more with tickets earned during this event. Going to wait until the final day to buy the last one, if it doesn't drop before then. 9 more tickets to earn this event. So I either buy the last fragment and then get the morph fragments during anniversary. Or I drop the next fragment and get the morph fragment Thursday morning.

Or, if I am really lucky, I drop a fragment the next 3 days and make a lot of gold.

Either way, there really is no need to spend crowns on tickets since the only thing that doesn't carry over into Anniversary is the costume fragments and the broom/bucket pages. The broom and bucket pages are fairly cheap in guild traders that spending tickets on them if they don't drop is not really a good idea. So the only thing that anyone needs to spend tickets on for this event is the costume and there are plenty of tickets for that.

Its paid RNG. Iv never had to crack open my alt accounts to collect anything for 1 toon. And neither have any of my friends online. But yet here we are, loading up alts on several accounts to complete a collection.
Sure! you can just buy them with tickets. Only 750c per piece. Whats that, 70 bucks for a costume?... Sounds like a win for ZoS.
Using alt accounts sounds like a win for them too. Boosting their numbers of log-ins I guess LOL.
I guess you could run around to all the guild Kiosks and buy them. They range from 200k gold to a million? Or just skip the event and buy a completed one for 4mil.
Whatever... This event stinks like Murkmire.

But you don't have to do any of that at all though.

This event awards 27 tickets. Most people who have been doing the tickets know that you should always make sure you have tickets saved up from previous events. Always. So, even assuming just 3 tickets saved, for 30 event tickets, earned in game, you could buy every fragment necessary for the costume.

That is only even necessary in the incredibly unlikely event that not 1 single fragment drops in 9 days of the event. Very unlikely.

Things you don't need to spend tickets on:
Bucket and Broom - Cheap in guild traders, also likely to just drop outright
Morph fragments for this years events - will also drop in the anniversary event
Hide Shoulder - Will be purchasable with earned event tickets forever, or you know, next week with the anniversary event

The only thing you may NEED to spend tickets on this event is the costume. No need to spend crowns at all.

Haha, I just stopped doing the extra quests, especially the pig rescue, once I had everything from the purple boxes. Now I just do the arena fight one and the apple one, to get the gold box and tickets for the day, and 1 purple box since it is right there, then move on to other things.

Hindsight is a great thing though, it's fine to say that we who pay attention to the forums and are used to these events could organise ourselves. Like some of the above folks I navigated the confusion and got my rewards in plenty of time.

I do feel sorry for the vast majority of players whom were are often told in forum interactions don't visit or post here much or at all

This elusive #ESOFam that the marketeers would have us all believe the company cares so much for!

Especially those newer to the game that have not seen the gradual change in player events might expect that you can get the "prizes" for the events that advertise it, just by playing and not having to micromanage tickets and drops and calculate the odds of when they will drop for you!

You're telling me I dont have to collect something when it comes it. But its what I like to do. Assuming I have saved my tickets is something that I do because ZoS likes to micromanage your pocketbook. And because they really dont put a timeline on anything that they... How do you say, "Give away?" makes people anxious when they drop events. And lets not forget new players...
Iv gotten 1 drop on my main account. As well, I have done all dailies on 12 toons to pass around style pages to guildies that dont have time to play 10 hour days to collect drops every single day. But your right. I dont HAVE to, I want to. Because there are only so many things in this game that I get joy about. And one of them is helping community as well. Id like to think that these events are about going out, having fun, and enjoying the community. But its not..

Its literally people jumping from toon to toon, and account from account trying to collect garbage that in the end just dosnt really matter. And personally Id like to have time to enjoy the even, rather then having a time restraint on a collection designated within ZoS parameters that has a dismally low drop rate with the option to "BUY" it.

This is completely reprehensible, and it's the kind of thing that makes me want to quit the game.

Not because I care about the costume--it's hideous, and I don't--but because anyone capable of sinking so low for this is just as capable of sinking so low for anything else they think they can get away with. It becomes our ethical obligation to punish, not reward, such behavior.

Detestable, ZOS. Utterly detestable.

I’m very curious about this. Human memory is extremely fallible. Not to mention a lot of respondents there did not even notice the poll asked about purple boxes, not gold ones. Four redditors’ claims say to me it’s worth asking about but not definitive proof they’re dropping as remembered.

On the other hand, ZOS has certainly said things that turned out not to be true as well, whether due to misunderstandings or last-minute changes or simple oversights or something else. Usually they can check on that and get it fixed, which is why it was important for Kevin to check on our feedback on PTS about the number of chances per day versus scraps required. That was the time for ZOS to say “actually you have a small chance from the purple boxes too” - which would have changed the situation (and the feedback) significantly.

Does anyone have an actual screenshot of a purple box with a cloth scrap? Just so we know for sure.

And Kevin, can you check on this, please? Since you do recognize how important clear and accurate communication is, and how much it would help here.
