What are the perks of having characters on both NA & EU?

Heyo! I've been wondering recently what the perks are to having multiple characters on both mega servers would be, aside from being able to play with the community on each server. I meself don't have any friends on the NA side, so I don't really have reason for that, but is there anything else benefical to it?Like, do you have a seperate bank on each server? Can you move items around between your EU and NA characters, if daily log ins are seperate and event stuff, things like that? I've already got an alt base game account I got a key for to set up as basically mule characters and to get bonus log in rewards and event stuff while I have it. I've cancelled my ESO+ sub which runs out in September, so I am preparing the great exedus for a plusless life and looking to get as much space and what not as I can!

There are no benefits other than being able to play on each server, and have ''more'' character slots since your characters don't carry over.

Your banks, money, achievements, houses, crown store purchases, etc all don't carry over either. You can't move items between each server.

I was familiar with Crown Store things being sperate, but I wasn't sure to what degree other things was as well. I suppose if I become *that* desperate for space, I can start making mules on the NA and mail things between my Alt account and my main one and just claim them on whichever mule or character I want them on, but even then it doesn;t sound worth all the hassle.

    Thanks for the responses!

I'm not sure if by account account you mean a literal alt account (different @ name login) or you mean the NA vs EU version of the same @ name. If it's the latter, you can't mail things between your NA and EU characters.

When i started first playing on NA server actively was because of constant problems with EU and often longer maintenances.
There is some charm (for me) with starting account from scratch. And not at last place i had characters i know for pts server no matter which one is now active.

you get more characters! and it's fun to get to decorate the same house twice, i wouldn't buy a crown exclusive house twice but i do have doomchar plateau on ps eu and na.

and anything you buy outside the game like eso plus, chapters, and crowns are on both servers so you can do the same content. or buy an item you want for all characters twice. though i think i got most crown items i wanted with crown gems from twitch crates

though i only went to ps na when i hadnt purchased any extra character slots on eu and wanted to make more characters.

i have an odd sleep schedule and people on the na server are still online when it's night for me so that gives me another reason to go there

I keep a couple of chars on each account in PC/NA to collect event goodies - like the nested boxes or houses we've had in the past for instance - but I don't think is very likely I will ever play in PC/NA.

However it costs me nothing to log in a few times a year. I even did the event tickets thing to get The Daedrikea Doomchar Plateau.

I started playing on PS NA because Cyrodiil on PS EU was dead. They broke Gray Host with a maintenance in the middle of the last PvP event (July/August 2022) and never told us what was going on. What was left of the PvP community had to play on Blackreach for 6 months.

Now i have multiple chars on both servers but i don't really want to play anymore. It's nice to be able to switch servers when one of them is dead (or sleeping), but i am so fed up with all the performance issues and bugs and the always dwindling numbers because of it.

I played WoW on a cheap laptop with crappy Wifi over 10 years ago, so i am used to a lot of problems. I managed to stay positive way longer than most of my friends. But ESO is only getting worse. After so many empty promises i feel betrayed and abandoned and i lost hope that it will ever get better. Especially when i have to listen to the devs acting like everything is fine. So my playtime went down from multiple hours every day to less than 1 hour a week.

In the unlikely event that things change before i fall in love with another game, i will be able to play on whichever server works better. Other than that it can be nice to play with different communities.

I started one character on the EU server after account wide achievements was forced on us. I'm using the character to go through all the content in the same order I did on my first character when the game started.

Some of the stories I had forgotten so it is fun doing them again.

Sometimes one server is down while the other one isn't. That's why I have characters on both.

Money purchases such as eso+ and chapters show up on both servers.
While your crown balance appears on both servers, beware! crown item purchases do not spread across servers.
What is earned on the server stays on the server, meaning inventory, gold, gems is not transferable to the other server.
Fan of playing magblade since 2015. (PC NA)
    Might be joking in comments.

I am a dual citizen and play mostly on NA, but sometimes like to switch over to EU where I grew up and play with people there too.

Also, if you ever wanted to really experience the game again from scratch without creating a new account...you can start a new character on the other server. You won't get everything you purchased from the store, but keep the zone purchases (assuming non-eso plus).

In the past the clients for both servers were different with different maintenance days so you could keep playing on one server while the other was down. Also, eu seem to go through a long period of being unplayable so having a 'stable' na server was handy then. And even if playing from eu, the na server always seemed to me to be more stable than eu despite higher latency but that may just have been timing. I think that long ago you could play both servers at the same time - so you could theroetically play on eu while your SO sitting beside you could play on na, but zos patched that fairly early, I think.

I think a lot of players live and work in different time zones so maybe started on one server then switched as they moved with work or life. I know a few players from US where the eu peak time suits them better; na peak time actually suits me better but I still play eu when I can. I've also known some US players who switched to playing eu when working EU then moved back to the US but kept playing eu because of guilds/friends etc.

I think there's also another group of players that enjoyed starting again on the 'other' server as they were able to apply all the stuff they'd learned and avoid many mistakes they'd made on their original server - but still, hilariously, got booted from pugs for being 'low cp noobs' despite having gargantuan achievements & skill on their original server.

So, in short, playing both: versatility and fun. You obviously maximise your game purchase by utilising all base game character slots by playing both servers.

As to what transfers between servers: not a lot. Your crowns are a common pool but stuff you buy in crown store is local only to server purchased on(mounts, dlc, banker, merchant, extra character slots etc). But chapters you buy in store are common to both servers. If you sub, the sub perks are active on both servers except crowns as noted. It's painful the first time you buy a dlc with crowns expecting it to be usable on both servers only to discover that 'account' is one of those words that never quite means what you think it does.

If you play during off times of the day on a server for your particular time zone and are unable to find groups and runs, then the other server might be more compatible, so that's a perk. Also, when one server has an extended maintenance but the other one is up, and you feel like playing is another benefit  Though purchases, like dlc's and cosmetics don't transfer so it can get expensive.

The servers are *completely* separate. You can't communicate with characters on the other server, you can't send items or gold between servers, you don't share achievements or houses with them, etc etc.

So one advantage is that you can play the game again from scratch if that's your thing.

I started playing on NA when there were long downtimes on EU.
It was very funny to play a fresh character with empty small bank and inventory, while your experience helps you to do everything very fast and effective. Smurf moment.
Once I wanted to see a new intro quest. So I created a new character on NA, instead of buying slot on EU. Saved me 1500 crowns :)
Today it is just a place where I can switch to other activities with other people.

There are no perks or advantages to play on both servers really.
Only common things between your server accounts are ESO+ and chapters bought. Ah, also crown amount is common, but it is not a plus. You spent some crowns on NA - you have less to spend on EU.
Any costumes, furnuture or dlcs bought from NA crown store are available on NA only. Same for EU.
Another disadvantage is ping. You must've chosen first server in your region to minimize delay to server. So another server will have higher ping, you'll get some handicap with endgame content.
Well, there is one plus: for each twitch drop crate you get one to EU, one to NA - double play with random :)
