Frozen Gate
  • This ability now ranks up in damage, but has had its base damage reduced to our PBAoE standard attack. Rank IV of each morph will reach the same damage as before.

Why does this ability count as a PBAoE?
Both the crowd control and the damage the portal causes are single target.
Was it ever reverted/fixed?

    the skill is still technically an aoe that is on the ground, it just only the first target that steps in it

    why they adjusted it though i have no idea, maybe because its such a large area its easy to catch people in it?

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    Yes, it is a PBAoE ability placement wise, but to give it the PBAoE stat scaling makes no sense at all. It would be as if, for example, any healing ability that affects one friendly target in x range around the caster would get the PBAoE scaling too. If something only affects a single target, it is a single target ability. Even if said heal would affect two targets, i'd argue that it is not AoE. The definition of AoE should be something like "affects all players that are in range of the ability" (cap or no cap applied doesn't matter for the definition).

    I'm all for standardisation, but this looks a bit like as if a database and not a combat & career dev made the changes.

    This looks like an AoE but it behaves as a single target. Ergo, I would hope that they'll consider adding the soft taunt to the ability like other class and guild skill lines that pull an enemy. That would be a nice bonus to the perpetually dumped-upon Wardens.
