Just putting out a shout to see if anyones tested or run Serpents Disdain. Require feedback on what the set affects, and does not affect.
Ie: maim, minor cowardice etc.

It doesn’t effect debuffs, it effects status effects. Those are two different things

There are 9 status effects:

Burning-has a chance to apply on dealing flame damage, just a dot

Chilled-has a chance to apply on dealing frost damage, applies minor maim. If you have a frost staff equipped, applying chilled will also apply minor brittle

Overcharged-has a chance to apply on dealing magic damage, applies a dot and minor magicka steal

Shocked-has a chance to apply on dealing shock damage, applies minor vulnerability

Sundered-has a chance to apply on dealing physical damage, applies a dot and minor breach

Poisoned-has a chance to apply on dealing poison damage, just a dot

Hemorrhage-has a chance to apply on dealing bleed damage, applies minor mangle

Diseased-has a chance to apply on dealing disease damage, applies minor defile

Serpents disdain will increase the duration and the associated debuff that a status effect applies

What I would like to know is if this set prolongs status effects that are inflicted by other sets Like Affliction.

i think it might be possible because this set specifically states it applies the diseased status effect, and the other set increases duration of status effects

My only point of doubt is the whole 'procs can't proc other sets' rule. I don't think that rule would apply here since it doesn't affect the other set directly but I don't think I have anything I can test it with.

there are also a lot of caveats to that rule too

in this case, serpents disdain is kind of borderlining a proc because it just says "extends the duration of your status effects"

sets dont proc off of siege in cyrodiil, but elf bane can extend the duration of the dot from oils, fire ballista, and coldfire ballista for example

personally i think affliction set itself is pretty weak, because minor defile is so bad (-8% healing and health recovery), but you could apply a ton of status effects with say like caluurion (5 sec cooldown, each hit applies a status effect, so you could potentially have all 4 status effects from that simultaneously with serpents disdain)

Thanks for the answers, I’ve been trying to figure a way to try and make the set work in group content, as always, many ideas, and no ways to make them reality 😂 the only thing I can think of is the staff from asylum sanctorum and a few other bits and bobs, but they don’t mesh well together (and we all know how those end up).

In pvp its extremely powerful.
Anyway you want to look at your class, and see what damage types you have easy access to, and then try to fill out the rest with weapon skills and enchants.
The set works best on dragon knight, due to their increased damage with poisoned and burning, a d the relative ease with which they can apply those statuses.

Ehem... This is old topic, but I just found this set in list and I think it requires tweak.

Best congifure I can imagine with set is when it used on back bar. Its lines are extremely weak, but 5-th bonus is good. With this at back bar you can place something like destructive touch and poisonous claws there and hit with it very nice burn and poisoned uptime. But there is one little thing that ruin everything: If you switch bar and apply same dot again, it will rewrite status effect duration to general one. Its good for DK and in same time its not, because Dk need to proc statuses for resource gain, so it must be on body... But 2 useless lines there, Carl. If you imagine this set like a baby, then it was born without one leg.

Yeah, it’s definitely vastly overperforming with Elemental Susceptibility being a free ability.
