Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

You can probably remove the 'Convert to Imperial Style' option at this point.

An option that just brings up a text box directing you to a system that has been in the game for years now is more confusing than helpful at this point.

For context: Players with the Imperial Race used to have the option to select looted armor and weapons and then convert their style to Imperial. Since outfits were introduced however, this was changed so players with Imperial's unlocked can use the Imperial style on outfits for free. Despite this change being years old at this point, the option to convert items is still there and only serves to direct you to the outfit system.

I have "Convert to Morag Tong style".
I guess it depends on our game's version x)

I honestly thought this had already been removed, which goes to show how much attention I pay to those options.

I agree it would make sense to remove it now. The only time the note might be useful is if someone who stopped playing before the outfit system was added but remembers that option returns to the game and tries to use it, but that's a very niche situation and if it happens there's other ways they can find out about the outfit system.

You got that one as part of the Morrowind collector's edition. It's possible to have both on one account, if you got the Imperial Edition (either as a pre-order or buying the upgrade) as well.

Yeah, that right-click menu is getting cluttered. More than once I've accidentally hit "Convert to Imperial" instead of "Mark as Junk," and then I have to get that popup telling me about the Outfit system.

I'd love if this option could just be removed from the menu.

I have both, and I would not recommend to request this functionality to be removed because the divines know what else would break in this game with spaghetti code. If you don't want to use that functionality then don't but it's causing no harm.

No one can use it even if they want to, because it hasn't worked since the outfit system was added. That's what this topic is about.

All that's left is the line in the menu, which brings up a pop-up telling you to use the outfit system instead. I suppose it's possible the game is in such a mess that a defunct option can't be taken out the menu without something else breaking, but if so that seems like something which really should be fixed rather than ignored.

As I understand you can only transfer no set items, not dropped set from overland, dungeons and others, making this useless.
Not sure if you can convert crafted sets but that its pretty useless as you could just craft in that style.

Grinding just make you go in circles.

I entered this thread planning to agree the Imperial and Morag Tong conversion functions should just be removed. Wondering now what could be broken if that happened, though, has made me stop to think twice about this.

I wonder if this is something they can't fix without breaking something else now. I didn't think about that before. I wonder if issues like this are one of the things they hope to fix with the re-architecure.
