Bizarre fast travel incident last night

NA server, playing on PC. U was in a big group doing skyshards, delves and world bosses in Stormhaven. I took a little swim to get to one of the bosses and just as I got out and was running up the bank, the screen switched to the screen saying I was travelling to Bangkori. But then when it went away, I was standing on a bridge in Stormhaven. I had never been on that bridge with that toon. It was crossing the same body of water that I had just swum across several hundred meters away. a few people in the group ended up in different wayshrines than the rest of the group when using travel to player. this was between 8 pm and 10 pm EST last night

You can walk/swim freely between the borders of zones in that area and it will take you to the zone who's border you crossed into. The border between the rift and eastmarch is like this too but only has a narrow transition area.

I've seen a similar problem with the border between those zones, and it's reproducible. If you follow the coast south from Strastnoc's Landing in Bangkorai, you'll reach a point (I forget exactly where, but it's at a promontory) where you'll be ported to the main Stormhaven/Bangkorai crossing bridge.

I didn't cross the border, but I can see how the game may have registered that. the boss was Maiq the Liar. I was on the road that would have crossed that bridge, but well before it I realized that and swam across where it was still narrow. So almost certainly a variant of what you describe as being reproducible. I swam between shores of Stormhaven that were so close to each other I could almost do a staff attack across the water, but that water is a very small finger of the body of water between Bangkori and Stormhaven.
