Cyrodiil is amazing and You just ignored it for too long

This game mode I like to call “revolving door pvp”

It’s constantly going regardless of time of day. You used to have 6 full campaigns all day. It was beautiful. And it just got ignored to much.

Any other game would have revamped the
Map. Added activities. Added new stuff. But not ZOS.

It’s so sad to see the state it’s in. Practically just dead. 1 bar each during the day. Maybe full at prime time.

Every person I see in there has some type of store mount/Dlc set Dlc class. We spent lots of money as pvper.

But you devs ruined it with no updates no revamps no love.

Kinda makes me sick.

It isn't lack of content or lack of changing dynamics that is causing PvP to be less popular.

It is performance. Cyrodiil never recovered from having the calculations moved server side. If/when they improve performance the players will return.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

While it does need updates & more things added, it's not the main issue, what gutted Cyro is the horrible performance.

As others have said, the performance is the biggest issue more pvpes don't use Cyrodill anymore. I would that another issue with Cyrodill is the lack of attempt to balance for skill. It's only natural in games that don't bother to try. It needed a noob tube of some kind, they kind of tried with siege but siege is too difficult to secure a kill with except for coldfire ballistas which are hidden away in content that a newbie is unlikely to obtain, which defeats the purpose of a n00b tube. A game shrinking down to a small amount of dedicated players is a natural result of not balancing for skill.

Performance has been bad for 7 years. Was never good.

They could have done reworked everything by now. The game production was probably less time than it’s been.

There sort of are noob tubes, namely the "under 50" and "no CP"-campaigns. Those are a lot easier for beginners than the hardcore campaigns. Still, "easier" doesn't necessarily mean "easy" in absolute terms and those, too, can be daunting for someone with zero PvP experience. What would you propose as a remedy?

I'd much rather them not add a single thing into PvP ever in eso, but have amazing performance in cyrodill where we can have the original population back where it was 300v300v300, I think anways. Improve the rewards to get the population up and that's it. PvP will be golden.

Yeah, PvP players do spend a lot of time and funds on the game, and it's the most ignored mode across the board, which honestly boggles my mind since PvP (performance issues notwithstanding) is one of the coolest features in ESO. On release it was one of the major attractive features, and hugely advertised, and in this year's chapter reveal it only got an offhand 'there's also PvP in the game' from the director. If they are actively trying to turn this game into a solo-experience MMO it's such a wrong turn in my opinion, and they are doing themselves a massive disservice not dealing with PvP, which in its former glory could attract a lot more attention and players to the game. Overworld PvP is so much fun, regardless of level and experience, because there's also doing tactical things for the map, rallying with your faction and just feeling like a part of a community. And that community for the most part is really great, and one of the most loyal, and ZOS has ignored it for far too long. TLDR I completely agree with you OP. I wish they will tend to PvP and make it reach all it's amazing potential and have vibrant campaigns and gameplay again.

They haven't been ignoring Cyrodiil. For years now they've been paring it down to what it is today. They've been continually reducing the population caps and group size for years. Yet somehow performance still hasn't gotten better. It's as if they've been making an active effort to shrink the PvP population into nothingness.

Server performance is poor for everyone but spare a thought for players in some far away countries, like Australia, where a ping rate of 300ms to ESO servers is considered good. This then gets worse when more than 4 or 5 players start to battle each other, with stutters and even disconnects.

I'd love to play it more and get some characters to Alliance Rank 50 but my ping means as soon as I'm attacked by anyone even remotely competent, I die, usually because I'm dead on the server before I know I've been attacked and try to react.
    Australian on PS4 NA server.
    Everyone's entitled to an opinion.

I'm really saddened that it hasn't been updated outside of the addition of Daedric Artefacts (which I hardly see anymore for some reason).

Many years ago my guild and I were brainstorming new additions, and we were thinking of things like supply wagons travelling around to keep castles alive, with the ability to starve out a castle by cutting off supplies with a siege, etc. There's so much that ZOS could do to deepen the experience, but nothing's been done.

Yes, it's almost like they don't want to encourage anyone to get hooked on the AvAvA system and become disillusioned and disappointed with the poor performance and fallout of balancing primarily for PvE.

They could easily get more people involved by adding really good AP rewards, such as mounts and houses. Many of us are sitting on hundreds of millions of unused AP, and would love to have valid reasons to grind for more.

I am a Pvp player myself, i only play pvp and i have spent a couple houndred dollars in buying plenty of stuff from the Crown Store, but i will not invest a single dollar anymore because i feel ignored by the devs, all the money i put in this game was used to develop more cosmetic stuff and not improve the game. Cyrodiil has a lot of potential, i have played lots of MMO and the pvp in Cyrodiil is the best, i love it, and really can't understand how they waste this potential. They could literaly have the best pvp MMO in the word, [snip]
