undo option when saving armoury builds

i just accidentally saved my tank build on top of my pve build. i'm usually always so careful about that, but i just got burnt. well, the thing is though, why do any of us have to be so careful every time? if there were an 'undo' feature, then if you make this stupid mistake, you're not so terribly punished.

ok, off to reset morphs at shrine, reset attributes, reset cp, reset mundus, throw gold out the window, etc etc

The Armory Style Manager addon has a lock build feature, siimilar to locking gear, along with saving a few other things then the default. A very nice addon and wotth checking out.

Personally I do not see a way for ZOS to change this. Because even with an undo feature, we'd get players who would accidentally click undo. Those players would then be in the same situation you are in now, having to remake the entire build. While at the same time the undo button would add another layer of confusion to the armory system. So it is better to keep it as it is now.

When using the armory, triple check everything. So far I haven't made a mistake yet, but I am sure I will too someday. Remaking an entire build costs like 15-20 minutes and about 20k gold, if you already have the gear. So if you happen to save over the wrong build, you basically skip having to remake the gear. And only lose some time.

Hopefully you will be back up and running the old build again very soon. Goodluck!

I'd just like a delay before it saves like is already there for other things. I can't change an outfit without waiting a few seconds but I can overwrite an entire build instantly...

    Edit - typo

I always go with a soft reset in the bottom slot where I only take the passives, skills, and champion points I know I will use in every single build whether its to tank, heal, or damage. At least when you mess up, you have the most basic setup with the essentials already there.

If it makes the OP feel any better, two days ago I decided to try out some new builds. So, I loaded up "factory defaults" and went to work. Gear, champ points, mundus, passives, skills...everything.

Oh, wait, did I say gear before passives? Yep. Reconstructed a load of gear sets at gold quality with no crafting passives. That's 20 gold mats per piece or so. Like a year's worth of overspend.

    So, for the record, it's:
Caffeine - Passives (esp. Crafting!) - Skills - Ability Pt - Champ Pt - Gear - Mundus

Sadly, not available on console. SIGH. Would be nice as I did what OP described after having a few beers.

i guess i mean the undo feature would appear after you save a build. so if you undo it at that point accidentally, you could just redo it.

at any rate, i'm trying out the armory style manager addon, see if that helps. i mean you're right in that it's not the end of the world. i just had to redo my build but i didn't lose items, so it was just lost time and gold

    Console, no addons.
    Addons not helpful.

Having an addon for the PC that does this means only the console would benefit making it even less likely.

The armory system is powerful but not intuitive. I have ruined a number of builds saving incorrectly. Being able to lock a build be would a great help. In fact, it should have been put into the original system. But since there is a PC addon to do this I don't expect it to happen. The console is and remains an afterthought.
