Can we please get "unhide" password on account login screen?
ESO players have asked for this before. I remember folks asking for this option way back in 2014. I would really like to know why this suggestion was rejected.
Most sites I use allow one to "unhide" the password so one may verify correct entry as one types. Of course, if I were in an internet cafe or a library, I would hide the password, but at home having a hidden password is simply unnecessary. In my specific case, my mechanical keyboards (all of them, every brand) eventually start repeating keystrokes, which leads to incorrect letter entry. For example, I might press the "a" key one time and have aa enter. This sometimes leads to incorrect password entries (as well as unintentional dodge-rolls).
Aside: Currently, the ESO launcher account log-on is returning the wrong error message when an incorrect password is entered: it's returning the unauthorized-computer message (see email for Code), instead of the message that account name and password do not match. I could avoid an error message (the wrong one or the correct one) if I could see the password as I type.
In the past, when someone asked to "unhide" the password folks amused themselves by making fun. However, not one of the comments gave a good reason why the option (to "hide" or "unhide") should not be available. If you want your password hidden, then you'd still have that option, so why deny the "unhide" option to others? Players have been asking for this option for 9 years. It seems like such a simple thing to give us.
