A mesmer or illusionist would be awesome!

True, and they really should be red, even if nightblade has some red abilities too (as you said, vampire isn’t a class anyway).

Edit: It’s mostly, or only, the mesmerize ability that’s pink — it is the primary vampire ability I use.

So, that kind of establishes pink as the color of illusion magic, doesn’t it?

My first thought was some sort of illusionist, but I suspect that's because of the mesmer in Guild Wars (1 and 2), their spells are all pink. Other than that I'm not sure, the colours don't seem particularly logical to me (other than things like fire being fire coloured, so I suppose they made all the other skills fire coloured to match).

On that basis I suspect it would be some sort of blood magic (but distinct from vampirism) and just like when they stuck us all with pink weapons at CP160, and the naming schemes on the dyes, ZOS would insist it's not pink, it's light red.

I think an ESO class based on illusion and alteration magic (or a 2nd Era equivalent, since the schools haven't been established yet) could be distinct enough from the GW2 mesmer that it wouldn't come across as a rip-off. But it probably would help keep them distinct if it wasn't pink. I also think it could be an interesting class to play.

Maybe white would be a better choice - to kind of imply that their spells are invisible and only working within the targets mind, while still having a visual effect so the players know the skill is working.

Generally yeah. If you see pale yellow skill effects (mainly spears and flashes) it's a templar, if you see orangey red fire it's a dragon knight, if you see pale purple flashes and lightning it's a sorcerer, and so on. The most obvious example is the warden - a lot of their plant and animal themed skills have a blue glow around them, to blend in with the frost magic.

After watching vox machina, I am going to go with...Mara, bard, the chapter will be of comedy. Maybe we can throw in some Sheo in there too. Remember they already have a set that "charms" people....

Well, it will probably be related to Mara, and the main skill line will cause humanoid opponents to break combat and get married.

Bards out of question. They gave us the school and personalities to fulfill dreams

Most guys don't like pink and they are about 60 percent of population. It just wouldn't be economical.

So for fun while highly unlikely I say divine class that evokes the powers of the divines

Depends on the country, really. I mean, I hate bright colors in general, no matter which ones, but I saw men wearing pink shirts quite often in Italy, and in many Asian countries the color also has different associations. Let alone it has been considered a boy's color also in die West until the 1920's (being a lighter shade of red, and red associated with fire, force and blood, which were considered very manly).

Why 60%, btw? I don't think there were ever stats about the gender of ESO players? Where would they even have that data from?

Obviously, it is a misquote. It is never "60%". It is always "90%". As in: 90% of the population won't like pink. Also, 90% of the population will like pink. Fortunately, 90% won't care either way.
Bards out of question. They gave us the school and personalities to fulfill dreams

You might be right, but I wouldn't be too sure about that. If they do another class, they should probably do a requested one rather than trying to go out on their own. Bard is one of those.

Yep, can confirm. A number of my older male relatives from various countries (Europe, Asia and Australia) wear pink shirts proudly. I think it was fashionable back in the 70s/80s?

I loathe pink myself, but that's probably because I'm sick of marketing departments shoving pink products at me all the time.
