In short.. the class system, just doesn't work. And this new system, of pick n mix.. clearly isn't either.
Would be nice to see true class lists for the servers. ie percentage of players playing as. Since it's pretty obvious nearly all botters are templars uisng aedric jab spam. This is apparently the "new" melee class.
But for general play.. Shield bash for the win.. clearly.. sb needs a severe nerf. Keep posting like this.. soon the game will be so weak and watered down that everyone will wonder wth they're logging in for.
I only log in to feed my horse.. he's (I think he's a he) is at 43 speed, 10 stam, 1 packs.
Fyi.. This post was made in a sarcastically joking manner. But, underlining a real ingame issue. And my horse is now 46% speed which is Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeely fast. Until you get debunked by a hidden db then the lag of slowing down is really what kills you.. I also made rank1 now and I'm trying to get werewolf up so I can bite people for free.

Crippling sword and shield is only going end up as a massive buff to ranged magic attacks. Do we not have enough problems with them being OP already?

Equal in what ? I got 3 toon i didn't try nighblade yet
With the class skill
DK are way more solid than Templar
DK dps more than Templar
Sorcerer does a lot more damage than templar
And when it comme to cc or aoe power ...

thilog✭✭✭I think it's a wide variety of fixed class systems, that make pvp games, worth playing. in WW2 like games you have your melee, medics, snipers, demo and so on and people flock to these games, in fantasy games, most pvp has always been people hiding and and sniping.. (snipers) and sorc aoe, any other choice and you're really just fodder for the former.0

So that's how people breeze true vet content. I keep seeing people asking for bash glyphs while leveling and always wondered why, thanks for clarifying.
As a (non vamp) light armour/staff using Sorcerer I die and struggle like everyone else in vet 5+ areas. I'm always out of stamina from rolling and blocking, I can't kite normally because I will aggro more groups. I will die in 3 hits so there is no way I can afford to use my stamina on skills.
So yeah shield and Bash spam is apparently the way to go, not being a silly Harry Potter like myself.
Seems the problem in ESO is how skill lines, passives, weapon threes and itemization synchronizes, creating overtuned or even OP combinations. That's why we have a vampire situation in Cyrodiil, for example. I predict more to come, unless they place a skilled dev to only look at these issues.

Don't know about 2 hander nightblades but know Sword n Shield heavy armor Nightblades aka Darknight with Siphon and shadow abilities is a tanking beast with a never ending supply of stanima, health, and magica.

Huh? Templars have ranged attacks that have the same range as sorcerers, and are longer range than DK abilities. Plus, they have a charge ability that covers close to the same distance. You can also use sneak, like everybody else, to get in closer.0 -

Only if you spec that way. I found 1 hand and shield too low dps for solo play, preferring dual wield. I also went with aedric jab as opposed to using the ranged spells. On top of those I trained healing spells to max. (to assist in grouping and generally helping other players)
The problem all classes really have, is if you switch or respec to totally different styles within the same classification too late in the characters lifecycle you are essentially nerfing yourself. Damage output is significantly lower and damage absorbtion or deflection depending on how you look at it is also significantly reduced, since you need to wait for the skills to raise in those areas to train in the skills that make that armour or weapon class useful over another one already trained.
There isn't much point in just respeccing at will, you need to train skills up and max them which takes longer than it does to get to 50 in level.
It is actually quicker to make a new character and follow a specific rule and specification than it is to respec and retrain.

Extremely, extremely effectively.
Less so lately, as people have learned... but a vampire DK can singlehandedly take on 5+ in PvP unless they know to back off and attack from range.
Once at range, they can die pretty fast, but in big mobs it is hard to tell who is what and DK can dominate.

Can anyone explain what makes 2h Nightblade so apparently overpowered?
