I don't love the grind nor do I think of it as one, usually It's an opportunity to see how the class plays out and learn it properly and gradually, and actually get mileage out of the content I payed for rather then succumbing the the biggest grift of all which is paying to reduce the lifespan of enjoyed time in the game you bought.

Though I would likely level a separate one and do some content before deciding to actual do a class change on an existing character.

Didn't play FF long enough to get to that point but from what I have heard of their system that would be the most ideal feature but not getting my hopes up.

I agree I do but can't ever seing that being a thing in eso, however I do think them putting a crown store token is something they might do if enough call came for it

My characters background is partially built around their class. To change the class would require I change who the character is. Yes, the grind is a little annoying, but I don't want to have to change the character. I would rather get to know a new character.

You really don't need to do "Everything" again to make a new character competitive.

Especially outside of veteran content, where the only thing you'd "need" is a bit of mount speed IMO.

174 characters and counting over 13 accounts.

120 writ certified. 73 at CP rank.

I love having new characters show up in my mind, begging for creation, and I love leveling alts. So your "no" doesn't fit as I don't find it a grind.

[Wish people wouldn't editorialize in poll options. Yes, No, Other is all that's necessary.]

Terrible poll options. One can make a new character and not grind it.

Class change tokens are a bad idea. This is about the 10th thread on this subject in the last week, so I am not going to repeat why. We need a section of the forums these threads can be moved to, right along with spell crafting.

I don't love the grind, but I don't think class change tokens make sense either. And it really doesn't take a character long to get to 50 unless you insist on doing it through questing.

It not the 50 that takes long it's, all the guilds, the crafting for alchemy and food, enchanting etc, the skill point grind and the slow ass mount

The mount I agree, but if you have another character that crafts, you don't need to do that again. Skill points are easy to come by. The guilds I can see because of skills. So I guess you have a point. I still don't think a class change token is the way to go, though. Maybe they could have a character+, similar to a new game+, that gives alts a decent head start on everything.

How much overt monetization of PVE and PVP balance are you willing to put up with?

Every update, classes get small and large changes. Many MMO players swap to the new most powerful classes. Are you willing to slap an obvious price tag on it when ZOS buffs one class and nerfs another?

There's a reason why ZOS so rarely adjusts Racial Passives. Each time they do, they get a lot of heat for how monetized it is due to Race Change tokens. There's a 3000 crown price tag to those changes. If ZOS eventually adds a Class Change token, you can expect to hear "ZOS is nerfing X to sell Class Change tokens" a lot.

How much are you willing to pay? Think about your number.

Now, look at how ZOS monetizes making new characters for meta shifts or a new class:
    It'll only cost you...
    8000 crowns for bag space
    18000 crowns for maxed riding
17000 crowns for FG, MG, Undaunted, Psijic, Legerdemain
800x however many zones worth of skyshards you need. Based on a quick Google, I see that roughly 90-120 skyshards are recommended, so call it 5600 crowns for 7 packs?

Even just with what I listed, that's 48,600 Crowns, or roughly $355 (at non-sale prices) if someone buys all the pay-for-convenience items.

Most players don't buy ALL that stuff, but ZOS nickel and dimes a fair bit of profit off players making new characters to follow the meta or try a convince. ZOS also benefits from players who don't pay at all, but do play the game for hours to level through playing.
How does that stack up against how much you'd be willing to pay for a class change token?

With all that said, I do expect ZOS will eventually add a Class Change token once the playerbase as a whole is no longer willing to play to level or pay for convienence. Once that happens, ZOS wants to offer them an expensive, but quick way to skip making new characters and instead get right back to using their existing characters with the new meta class.

In other words, I expect it to be something that comes more at the end of ESO's lifespan when the focus is less on enticing players to play for a long time and more on milking them for pay during the shorter time they play.

Now, I'm not an "ESO is dying" player, so I think we've got a ways to go before Class Change tokens. But who knows? Maybe the Devs will surprise me.

ZOS was talking about tent-poles so maybe that new class is the tent-pole into the cash shop.

    Absolutely I would.
For some reason I'd already thought this was a thing, they have service tokens for everything else BUT class change.
It's essentially just a career change for a character, IDEK why there isn't one, I'd buy several right away.
I have a LVL 30-somthing DK that I just can't get a feel for. I like her look, horse training is close to done, etc. Would love to switch her class.

I mean, I could decide tomorrow that I want to change careers from IT and become a chef.
So yeah I would have to learn all those skills, but that also doesn't mean I would forget all my secondary non-career skills like how to drive a car, or fix one, etc.
And the skill points that were assigned in my old class would just be in the pool and need to be redistributed as the new class leveled-up.

@ZOS_Kevin is there a proper place to submit feature requests?

EDIT: Removed confusing line about skill points.

I have a stamplar that I basically never play, so if I could change their class sure, great I'd try arcanist maybe if I was convinced to even buy the chapter
But as of right now, because that's the "new feature" of this chapter, is "roll a new toon", I'm just not buying it.
Coincidentally I skipped Morrowind and Elsweyr as well, to be fair, the new class wasn't why I quit the games at those times it was other combat changes. But the new feature being "roll a new character" didn't keep me in the game either.
