The likely upcoming Premade Group Finder

So in the global reveal event, the examples of QOL changes in Q3 they listed were the all-in-one attunable crafting station and a premade group finder. I'd like to focus on the group finder in this thread.

Do you think this means we'll finally get a trials group finder? Or what do you think this will mean for the game?

What even is a premade group finder, that is incredibly vague.

You know I dont really appreciate their "style" of presentation. It is too amaricanised, where everything is about presentation, not being honest and straight forward like a normal human being.

Instead of just saying what is coming to the game they are intentionally trying to be aloof as to treat gamers like children, trying to tease them, give them a FOMO or whatever.

Even the gameplay they show off is, I can't put my foot on it but it is "fake", faux. Pre rendered. You see the asylum sanctorium boss in that reveal event, it looks nothing like that in game.
That isn't even that they are just on some super high powerful PC, it is genuinely fake, not in game, some pre made behind the scenes build.

They could just simply make a list of "here is what we are working on, here is X content coming on X time".
Entire show could just be 10 mins of a human being speaking about what is happening with the game.
Not a song and dance. It is dishonest.

I think a premade group finder is just a tool where players can enlist themselves for activities.

Something like MagSorc looking for Vet Sunspire and other players can see and apply to that. So nothing very exciting at all, just something for means of easier communication to form dungeon groups, yet better than the automated group finder.

You set the activity and then set the roles needed. People with similar interest find it and join. Seems like the instead to the requested trial finder.

I'd like a grouping tool to allow me to define the group before setting out to do content.

i.e., set to private or friends only, (or guildmates?) then go. Alone, or as a duo, or trio with companions, or of course a full team.

Something like this could go a long way toward reducing fake tanking, as the transmute or writ speedrunners can just solo queue and go, or go as a duo in case of mechanics requiring two I guess.

All to the benefit of those who solo queue and want others to actually come with intent to fill the remaining roles as described, though capability is of course another matter entirely.

Wait isn't that just the old old group finder tool from back in the beginning of the game that never actually worked!

It will be incredibly useful to me, finding a fishing partner, or people who want to get X achievement, or grind specific content, yet I do not imagine it will be any sort of complex system other than the 3 roles, and PvE overland, PvP dungeons or trial finder. If it is that basic it will be a useless addition to the game.

You want to make a premade of all low-level players to run a dungeon, explore all nooks and crannies and listen to the story, or do you want to make a speed run with DPS only, or do you want to farm a dungeon repeatedly for set drops?

You can do all that with a premade group finder. It's just another social tool.

Do you mean where you yourself can create the title of the group, so players see "fungal grotto 1 set item farm"

I imagine it will be group composition choices. Allowing you to form dungeon groups with filter options, like 4 DPS, 1 tank +3 DPS, Quest run, HM Speed run, etc.

Yeah, and if done right, you should be able to see all pre-made lobbies and filter them in meaningful ways.

I was hoping it’d mean the dungeon group finder would be fixed. Though, if the system others are describing works for dungeons too that’d be nice. Wouldn’t fix the current bugs at all but I’m sure it could help the community a lot. I like doing random vets as tank to try and help others, being able to see beforehand what I’m getting myself into would be awesome.

Every time they show the massive sets and expensive equipment they have to set up for these reveals I think, Damn, they could be putting more of that money into hiring some more developers or better hardware.
