Question about Magelight and Critical Damage

Hello,
How much damage does a critical do? If I normally do 200 damage with a spell, will a critical do 220 damage? Or will it do 500 damage? I don't want to waste a hotbar slot with Magelight when we have so few slots unless critical damage can really turn the tide of battle and do huge damage.

It does 1.5x the base damage of a skill.

200 base = 200 x 1.5 = 300 crit damage.

I believe there are set bonuses & even a mundus stone that push up the "crit power" (or is it "crit surge") value. So, theoretically, you could push +crit % to an acceptable level, the. Really focus on pushing that multiplier up from the base of 1.5 up to something higher.

I'm unsure if there is a cap on how high you can push the crit multiplier up to, however.
