if eso+ trial ends and later I get High Isle, will my progress have been saved?

If I do some or all of a zone quest line in an area now unlocked by the eso+ trial and then the trial ends, will my progress be saved even though I can't continue unless I get access to the content again? A second part of the question - I have access to Elswyr and Somerset through the eso+ trial. If that progress is saved, will it matter if I regain access by getting High Isle instead of the paid subscription?

Thanks. I am really not that interested in crafting, cosmetics or furnishings, which diminishes the value of eso+ compared to just paying for the additional content once. It's largely a slash and bash quest oriented video game to me. I do like the story lines and do some group activities. I am sometimes the problem child in a group because they want to do DLC content that I would have with High Isle.
