Always Random Undaunted Shoulders, A Bug?

I know that ESO is set it up so when you run dungeons, trials, and arena's you will always get a piece of a set you don't have. It will then be saved in Collections and can be recreated using transmute. It was done so players don't have to runs these hundreds of times to get what they want, which I give max points for. However, that doesn't happen when you buy Undaunted Chests for shoulder pieces from the three daily quest giving NPC's. Is that a bug or an oversite? If it is intentional, then can anyone tell me why?

The Undaunted Chests predate the curation system for boss drops. Also, loot from chests is not curated, only from bosses.

So this is working as intended.

Damn it, I used 50 keys trying to get Slimeclaw medium shoulders and no hit.

Before this system Undaunted chests worked different. Some years ago it was changed to todays system.
Now you can choose what TWO sets you can get.
For 5 keys you can buy chests what can contain shoulder from 2 dungeons in any weight and any trait without curated loot.
For 1 key you can buy random chest what contain random shoulder in any weight and any trait.
Anyone from the older players can say what pain was to get shoulders what they wanted.

So answer is.. Its work right, it is not a bug. Just there is no curated loot.

The three Undaunted Chests originally offered three different tiers of reward, and were identified as "Bronze Undaunted Chest", "Silver Undaunted Chest", and "Gold Undaunted Chest". Starting at level 45, Maj al-Ragath would offer Normal pledges for the sixteen original dungeons, which would reward either a "Bronze Undaunted Key" or a "Silver Undaunted Key" depending on the performance of certain tasks. At level 50, Glirion the Redbeard would offer Veteran pledges for the original Veteran mode dungeons (now known as "Story II") as well as DLC-specific dungeons, which would reward a "Silver Undaunted Key" or a "Gold Undaunted Key". This was changed with the overhaul of the pledge system in Update 12.
After Update 23, all three chests appear permanently open.

Yeah, what they have now is a great improvement over the old three chests. It was something like a dozen possible shoulders in three weights.

Before sticker book, trait change and the actual system, it was a real pain to get a medium divine ilambris shoulder or any desired weight and trait piece. Litterally hundreds of keys wasted for people (like me) with bad rng.

i only buy the coffers when its a brand new dungeon dlc and i dont have any of the shoulders in the box

otherwise i just wait for them to show up on the gold vendor in cyrodiil and just directly buy ones im missing in collection

Yes, this is another option for players who have the gold or AP to purchase them.

Yes, this is another option for players who have the gold or AP to purchase them.

Yeah but as more and more sets are added it will take FOREVER for the gold vendor to have the set you need available.

Any set that drop from a "reward container" (a box you open in your inventory), for example: zone daily quest or Rewards for the Worthy PvP reward box etc - is not curated. Only sets that drop from bosses (Dungeon, Delve, Public Dungeon etc) are Curated.

I’ve been visiting the Golden every week to pick up any sets I think I might need later, great for filling out the sticker book.
