If ZOS were to Overhaul one aspect of the game, what would your choice be?

If they could overhaul the combat animations that would be so awesome. Could start with all the major resolve skills. Tired of everyone arching their back.

I would like light attack spam made more meaningful, rather than reduced.

Might there be benefit in doing what games in other genres do and go for a combo & finisher system?

LA, LA, LA, = Combo ender 1 as additional effect/attack next time you press LA

LA, LA, HA = Combo ender 2 as additional effect/attack next time you press HA

HA, HA, HA = Combo ender 3 adding haste making the next HA chain as fast as light attacks before a short cooldown on proccing this again.

    etc, etc

Of course, the combo would not need to be done in succession. It would be like necromancer skull stacks that you accumulate and don't lose even if using other abilities.

It would make combat at least somewhat more engaging like an action game.

I'd prefer abilities to have cooldown times.... that would make the light+heavy attacking feel so much more meaningful and the combat less "spammy" to begin with.

Double the teams creating content, art music and writing and allow them total creativity and to be able to go to town and pay them really, really well. The current teams do an awesome job but I feel like if they were doubled or even quadrupled the level of awesomeness would just make ESO over the top next level. Oh and fix the mail not being there all the time.

Trading. The fixation on having to join a player-controlled guild feels misplaced, makes a basic part of MMO functionality convoluted, and is offputting to many, many people.

Changing it doesn't have to involve an auction house, either. There are other options, not least automated guild traders.
Simple solution would be to also allow for trading guilds npcs to buy stuff from other players. Similar to how you post items you want to sell, you would post items you want to buy for how much etc. Every one visiting trading guild npc would be able sell you item you want, as long as they have it in their inventory. That way pretty much every player (to some extend) could participate in eso global trading & would increase supply of items.

It's an idea that's been discussed before but the trouble is, I'm not clear why anyone would bother to post "wanted to buy" listings. In practice, I doubt it would provide a sensible alternative, even though the idea is nice.

The trading system alienates people *who simply want to be able to sell and don't want it gated by the actions of other players*. In that context, the game needs a straightforward, non-player controlled selling mechanic that can be used by *a lot* of people.

The most straightforward way to do that that doesn't kill ZOS's / "I've been playing this game since 1865 and nothing should ever change because I do it this way"-type players' sacred cows does seem to be to set up "guild" trader NPCs that are automated, rather than player controlled, and through which any player can sell, but with some type of tax to keep the old guard happy.

I would argue finding things is far harder than anything else. I don't like the guild vendor system, but I could live with it if I could find the things I needed at their "going price". (Not necessarily cheap, but what it is usually selling for now.)

Kind of like putting TTC in the game.

Harvesting surveys should be much easier and not take hours for a stack, with the need to reset a node an vague distance or beaming someplace and back.

If I could only choose one thing would to be make all aspects of overland 2-3x harder.

A very vague goal and one of the reasons many of us think any "harder overland" efforts will satisfy anyone. 2-3x harder is only for a bit, until those who wanted it get used to it and want another 2-3x, and the cycle continues.

Sorry, back to the same: Addons. The main ones - at least - should be integrated into game under ZOS responsibility.

I mainly just want more character slots.

    And maybe undo AWA.

I don't really care what they do with combat, but it would be nice if it was adjusted enough to prevent so many people from being unhappy.

I absolutely do NOT want harder overland. There are already places to go for harder content. Overland content is supposed to be for everyone, including new players and players without combat-focused builds. Making overland harder would make questing and exploring a slog for many players and might even discourage new players from continuing to play the game.

So many things.... hard to choose.

Ultimately, there are two things that are holding me back.

    1. Whatever, or whomever, is responsible for their communications strategy.
    2. Account wide achievements.

They fix either of those two things and that'd be a start.

Why would Almalexia or Queen Ayrenn follow the player character around? Logically I can see it make sense with adventurer types like Lyris, but then again they probably want to use them (at least the "fan favorites") for new chapter main stories. And I'm not sure if they'd want the player to have two of the same npc around them all the time. Although, thinking of all companion clones you see with other players, it doesn't really matter much.
